On the soft grass, two Aeldari Farseers walked slowly forward. Following behind them were two strange creatures rarely seen on Aiur.
"Akama, your duplicity doesn't surprise me!"
"That's right, Lord Hogg. If you hadn't put my leg on backward, I wouldn't have ended up eating dirt."
Thanks to a minor mishap, Lorgar had accidentally attached Akama's leg backward while putting it back on. Hogg had been forced to cut it off and reattach it, leaving her a little annoyed.
Showing no remorse whatsoever, Hogg scampered off as if nothing had happened, then rubbed against Akama's calf.
"This is entirely your fault. You didn't even notice your own leg was on backward. I've never met an Aeldari as slow as you. Are you sure you're an Aeldari Farseer? You're not a human in disguise, are you?"
Hogg's teasing left Akama speechless. She didn't know why, but ever since birth, her reactions had been far slower than everyone else's. She had been mocked for it all her life, and even the temple had refused to accept her, deeming her a simpleton. In the end, only Cegorach had generously taken her in. Otherwise, she never would have risen to her current position.
Seeing Hogg and Lorgar scrabbling around on their short legs, occasionally lifting their heads to look at the two of them, Akama sighed helplessly and gestured for her companion to pick the little creatures up.
Though they were both wearing armor, their size made no difference. Akama and Sarah easily scooped them up and headed toward the distant, brightly lit buildings.
As the checkpoint's commanders, the two of them didn't need to undergo any inspections. Under the watchful eyes of a group of Aeldari guards, they carried Hogg and Lorgar into the barracks, where they lived.
Unlike humans, the Aeldari cultivated
