Sera, of course, didn't acknowledge that piece of shit Hogg. After all, she was a person, and she still had the most basic standards of decency.

As the governor of this remote region, Sera was practically its supreme ruler. But it was obvious she had no intention of wasting her life in this backwater. She wanted to achieve a technological breakthrough and return to the prosperous Solar Segmentum.

In the greenhouse, the three temporarily peaceful heroes of the Imperium sat obediently, each with a cup of rich hot chocolate in front of them. Hogg had wanted to say that chocolate could kill a dog, but he'd been beaten half to death earlier and was hungry. So, not caring whether it was poisonous, he picked up the cup and downed it.

There were none of the tedious formalities of a banquet. Grand gatherings called for pomp; small meetings called for practicality. Sera stated what she wanted:

A streak of deep blue electricity flashed across Sera's hand. No explanation was needed; Hogg knew it was the Psionic Energy he'd produced. It seemed she had already achieved a deep fusion with it.

Hogg's expression gave nothing away to nobody, even after he'd turned into a dog. No special tricks were needed to figure out what he was thinking.

Seeing Hogg fall silent, Sera assumed her offer wasn't enough and put forward another condition:
