"Honestly, I'm such an idiot. I shouldn't have hidden my treasures. And I shouldn't have left Sera, that walking disaster, to guard them. They're gone. All of them are gone. My White Light is gone."
Ever since he learned that the ten shiploads of Adamantium were gone, Hogg had turned into a tragic old widow. He spent his days curled up on the bridge sofa, lamenting his fate like a salted fish that had lost its dreams.
It wasn't as though nobody had tried to comfort him. The Four Heavenly Kings had taken turns, and the Cloaked Cockroaches had come in groups to console him, but none of it worked. Hogg would immediately ask, "Can you give me ten shiploads of gold?" and silence everyone with a single sentence.
Watching Hogg wallow on the sofa, Emilia was furious. But thinking of Hoggna's money-grubbing nature, she couldn't help sighing and gently soothing him:
"It's only ten shiploads of Adamantium. Give us enough time, and Blackwatch will definitely be able to scrape that much together. Then you can build as many warships as you want.
"Besides, what do you need so much Adamantium for? Even when the Blacklight was built, it didn't use ten shiploads of the stuff. With that much material, we could spread it around and build several more Gloriana-class Battleships. You can't be planning to cover the entire battleship in Adamantium, can you?"
Emilia was right. Though the Blacklight was a Gloriana-class Battleship, only its keel was made of an alloy containing Adamantium. Most of the rest was still Plasteel or some other high-quality steel.
Don't be surprised. Imperial ships were completely different from the warships in ordinary science fiction. You could even find enormous structures made of concrete aboard Imperial ships.
Not only were Imperial ships huge enough
