When the Bucephalus left the Warp, someone new had joined the crew besides Hogg: a maid who followed Emilia around, ready to serve her at a moment's notice.

However, whenever the maid, whose name was Shiraxia, was alone, she would secretly sob and mutter strange things like, "When the ruler wants his subject dead, the subject has no choice but to die," and "Blackwatch has no secrets."

Since he'd deleted his old character and started over, Hogg had made a few minor adjustments to the Blackwatch resurrection plan he'd devised.

The blood canisters carrying his blood samples were collected one by one. After the gene samples were brought into the reopened Blacklight laboratory, Hogg didn't use them right away. To prevent any unnecessary trouble down the line, he first devoured and absorbed the plasma, refining it anew inside his body before putting it to use a second time.

To observe the differences between the experiments more effectively, Hogg decided to pluck one test subject from among the 230,000 Blackwatch souls. Naturally, his favorite good son, Ross, was the obvious choice.

Hogg tossed Ross's soul into the Anubis Resurrection Device, and soon a new body was printed. Once it had matured, Hogg tossed Ross into the Super Can Production Machine for Space Marine conversion.

Seven days later, a voice called out beside Ross's ear, and he heard his own idiot father's voice:

"Open your eyes, my good son!"

Looking at the familiar room and his Primarch standing before him, whole and intact, Ross knew perfectly well that their plan had succeeded, even without his memories of the Battle of Cadia. Still, he asked, "Father, did I go Waaaagh!! when I became a Greater Daemon?"

"Splendid! You've got the same spirit I had in my day. You truly are my proudest son!"
