Konrad Curze whistled happily. When he walked, his toes touched down first, then the rest of his foot. He moved quickly, as if he could hardly wait. The posture made him look as though he were dancing, or gliding.
He entered a room. The doors slid open, and another person walked in.
Above him and the man behind him, soft light slowly spread out.
The floor split open, and two weapon racks rose slowly from the metal ground, stopping before them. Swords, spears, axes, halberds—all kinds of weapons were arranged neatly upon them. A simple triangular mark left by Central Hub slowly lit at the ends of the grips.
"What weapon do you want to use?" Konrad Curze asked with his back to his brother.
He seemed very relaxed, the line of his back completely loose. He raised his right hand and tapped each murderous weapon on his rack with his long index finger. They might not have Monofilament Saw-blades or Power Fields, but no one should doubt their power.
Clear and dull sounds alike began to echo through the room. The doors slid open, and several more people walked in.
The Angel with wings on his back sighed and complained to the dark-faced giant beside him, "Sometimes I really wish you could hug Konrad with all your strength one more time."
"I'm afraid he would turn into darkness and dissipate, wouldn't he?"
The giant smiled faintly, his eyes red as lava holding a serenity that belonged to him alone. "Let them fight, Sanguinius. If it really comes to it, I'll try to stop them."
Leman Russ stood beside them without saying a word. Horus had his hands behind his back, seemingly standing straight, but his tightly knitted brows still gave something away.
