To the Witcher's astonishment, the ruined castle rapidly began to change.

The overgrown courtyard became neat and tidy, the wooden training dummies turned to iron, and the practice swords became sharp. The weeds vanished in an instant. The outer walls, which had been little more than scaffolding, were restored, once more becoming thick and imposing. The tower roofs that had once leaked were repaired as well, even paved with red bricks. The weathered marks on the gates disappeared. What had originally been little more than a barred gate had become a pair of iron doors, reflecting a silvery gleam beneath the sunlight.

The Witcher turned around. The hall inside had become magnificent; the mottled walls and cracked floor were nowhere to be seen, and even the long tables had become oak.

He had not seen what the other parts had turned into, but judging from this, it was probably better than the most expensive inn Geralt had ever stayed in.

The Black-Robed Mage strolled down from the battlements and asked, "What do you think?"

The Witcher looked around at the newly restored castle and said dryly, "I've never seen her this beautiful. Perhaps she's even more beautiful than she originally was. Thank you."
