Rambo had seen plenty of inhuman bastards on the battlefield. Those people—no, those things—would pull the trigger on any living creature that appeared within their field of vision. Sometimes the target was even friendly troops.

Some of them had not been born that way; they had been shaped into it. But some were rotten from birth, losing more and more of their humanity with every step into depravity until they became devils wearing human skin.

They feared nothing, because they had no emotions. They did not fear life or death, because they craved death. Those people could no longer be counted as human. They were living guns. Utterly savage.

And the officer to whom he had just sworn loyalty, Litosys, acted even more savage than those inhuman bastards—Rambo could not describe what he looked like when he fought, and could only use that slightly derogatory word for him.

He did not understand how anyone could kill with such terrifying efficiency.

Litosys pulled the trigger, and a dozen or so Walking Corpses fell. Some lost their heads on the spot, while others had their entire upper bodies blown apart and collapsed to the ground in two halves. He kept firing without pause, never once changing magazines; even the bullets themselves were invisible.

He did not hesitate, and he did not retreat. Rambo followed at his side, intending to serve as a flank gunner, only to realize he had pathetically few chances to shoot. Litosys alone had finished his job for him, with efficiency so high it was outrageous.

They advanced, advanced, advanced—like a road roller, crushing every Walking Corpse in their path and turning them all into things that would never move again.

"Mission complete, soldier. Keep watch."

"Yes, sir."

After casually giving the order, Litosys walked up to a corpse
