95. They Are Still Fighting

Steve's worry was not without reason. He Shenyan understood that, but he would not take this power back because of it.

Some powers needed to exist.

As time passed, the Psionic potential buried within Steve would fully reveal itself. He could reject his own nature, or he could open his arms and embrace it, but all of that depended on what he himself thought.

He Shenyan did not think he would give up because of this. Steve Rogers did not even know how to spell the word surrender.

Back aboard the Vengeance, an explosion of information was once again hurled at him all at once by the Magic Array Hub. He Shenyan accepted it all without batting an eye, and discovered several rather interesting things among it.

First, Jaghatai Khan had not come out of the "paddock" opened up for him in thirteen days. According to the Hub's display, he spent as much as eighteen hours a day riding horses.

Second, the Iron Snakes Chapter's recruitment had already ended, and the result was satisfactory. Very satisfactory—Insel had been suspected more than once by the brothers in the Chapter of having some mental problem because he walked around smiling.

In fact, he might indeed have had a little. I mean, what Astartes did not have some kind of mental issue? It was only a matter of degree.

Third, the Sister named Ankesha had recently been interviewing the Astra Militarum soldiers who had been on the ship from the very beginning.

He Shenyan narrowed his eyes and realized he probably could not underestimate this Sister too much. Her persistence in getting to the bottom of things was as remarkable as her looks, and it was not easy for people to notice that at all—her beauty was hidden by the austere, killing air
