Konrad Curze lay lazily on his bed, and more than four hours had passed without him moving so much as a finger. It was worth mentioning that his eyes had been open the entire time. He had simply limited his blinking to once every five minutes.

He was practically a counter set to fixed intervals.

Rogal Dorn had said he wanted them to get better accustomed to working with the Legions. Curze felt that the people included in that statement definitely did not include him. Of all the Primarchs taking part in the Vengeance Crusade, he was the only one without a Legion.

Still, that was fine too.

Curze blinked thoughtfully. It was the third time in ten minutes, exceeding the time limit and frequency he had set for himself.

He thought of several familiar faces, then more of them. They emerged from dark memories with wet faces shrouded in blood, screaming as they lunged at him.

"Hmph."

With a soft little chuckle, the Night Haunter sat up from the soft bed and walked out of the room the Hub had assigned to him alone out of sheer boredom—every other Primarch lived in their Legion's garrison, and only Konrad Curze, alone and unattached, lived on the First Bridge.

In fact, if one ignored this relatively ironic fact, the place he lived was actually the closest to the Mage.

But he did not care about that at all. Konrad Curze spread his arms and let the darkness envelop him. The Void obediently obeyed his commands, and the Night Haunter moved swiftly and boredly through the First Bridge aboard the Vengeance, rapidly descending along the ship's body.

He was simply too bored, and he did not want to sit idle, so he intended to find himself some amusement.
