The words "rogue ninja" brought little change to Guy's expression.
After killing Yagura, he had already anticipated this outcome.
He had killed another village's Kage, and on their own territory at that.
Whatever the reason, once word spread, the Shinobi World would have no place for him.
Konoha would not be able to protect him, either.
Minato Namikaze looked regretful, but his expression remained serious as he continued:
"As much as I hate to admit it, Guy, becoming a 'rogue ninja' is your only way to survive right now."
"You absolutely cannot return to Konoha for the time being. Danzo has already begun making arrangements in secret."
"If you return to Konoha, what awaits you won't be a welcome, but..."
Minato had not finished, but Guy already understood.
Danzo was ready to arrest him!
Under the circumstances, becoming a rogue ninja was the best outcome.
It would sever Guy's affiliation with Konoha.
Then everything he did would have nothing to do with the village.
Minato drew a deep breath and said solemnly:
"However, Lady Tsunade, White Fang, and I will never regard you as a true rogue ninja, nor will we send anyone to capture you."
"When the right opportunity comes, we'll restore your status."
Guy nodded. He understood Minato's predicament, and he knew this was a stopgap measure.
Still, once his status as a rogue ninja became official, it would be difficult to reverse unless another major war broke out in the Shinobi World or some other upheaval occurred!
Yet Guy did not feel particularly opposed to it.
Being called a rogue ninja might sound bad, but it gave him greater freedom to act.
It would make it easier for him to do more things that Konoha would not tolerate, but that needed to be done!
