Why did this place feel so strange, System? It seemed to go on forever.

"Replying to the host: this planet isn't in our universe. The spaceship wasn't steered while it was moving, so it entered an alternate universe. In other words, this world isn't part of Dragon Ball's timeline. It's somewhere else entirely. Oh, well. Let's just treat it as a vacation."

"But this planet is way too big. It stretches as far as the eye can see!"

"Replying to the host: compared to Earth, this planet is about fifty times larger."

"Then, System, are there any strong people on this planet?"

"Replying to the host: there are many, because the planet is so large."

"But even this farmer only has a power level of 3."

"Replying to the host: this place isn't just remote, it's extremely remote, so nobody comes here."

"Whatever. I'll explore a little. I came here on vacation, after all."

We followed the others back to the village. This place was absurdly backward. It seemed to have electricity, but all it could be used for was lighting. Even though it was nighttime, none of the villagers had their lights on.

After asking around, we learned that electricity was expensive here, so most people couldn't afford to use it. It was also hard to make a living here, and most of the people left in the village were elderly. The villagers told us that the younger folks had all left.

"Android 18, should we rest here or go somewhere else?"

Android 18 still seemed to want to find somewhere with better accommodations,

after all, we'd come to relax, not suffer.

But Android 18 just said, "Either way. It's up to you."

"Hold on to me. Instant Transmission."

"Is this a city?"

"Damn, the difference between the city and the countryside is huge! These buildings must be hundreds of stories tall, and they've got self-driving hovercars. Some people even have flight devices on their backs."

"The countryside was so backward, but this place is ridiculously advanced."

After asking around, we learned that they weren't even in the same country. This planet had over a hundred countries, and this was one of the ten richest and most advanced. Robots were cleaning the streets, though there didn't seem to be any trash around, so it felt kind of pointless.

Oh, right. Could there be robots here stronger than Android 18? With technology this advanced, there should be plenty. Maybe there are even more beautiful androids. We could have a whole bunch of kids.

Android 18 wasn't pleased when she heard that, but she didn't say anything.

I was puzzled. The System had said there were strong people on this planet,

but I couldn't sense any particularly powerful energy.

Forget it. I'd ask someone. After a bit of rough treatment, a man in a corner of the city finally told me everything. Apparently, their power levels were ranked like this: Subordinate, Low, Middle, High, Special, Super, Subordinate Rank, Low Rank,

Middle Rank, High Rank, Special Rank, Super Rank, Heaven Rank, Great Heaven Rank, Half-Step God Rank, God Rank, God Rank 1, God Rank 2, God Rank 3, and many more. But I'd only heard about those from books. I was only Special Rank myself.

Well, that wasn't his fault. The problem was that this guy's power level was already two million in his normal state at Special Rank.

But the people here said that advancing by even one level wasn't a small improvement. It was a massive leap, like being reborn.

"Then do you know where the nearest god is?"

"I don't know, sir. Maybe you could look in some of the more dangerous places nearby," the man said.

"Subarashii! Do you know of any dangerous places?"

"I do, I do. I heard that a God Rank expert lives on Hundred Furnace Mountain nearby," the man said.

"I see. Android 18, hold on to me. Let's go."

When we reached the top of Hundred Furnace Mountain, we encountered a man in flowing white robes. From a distance, he looked like an immortal. You could even call him handsome.

The man looked just as astonished to see us.

Without a word, I attacked. I was all about the sneak attack. But the man instantly drew a sword and blocked my punch. Damn, a weapon? People in this world actually used weapons?

"System, what's his power level?"

"Replying to the host: his power level is three billion."

Damn, I only had 120 million. I went straight to Super Saiyan, giving me a power level of 6.6 billion. I wasn't about to give him a chance.

The man was quickly forced onto the defensive. He seemed to realize something was wrong and unleashed his full power, but for some reason, I could faintly sense a killing intent. Then Wei Dong's power level dropped to five billion. Damn, that was ridiculous.

"System, what's his power level now?"

"Replying to the host: it's seventy billion now. He should be using his full power."

"Shit. Super Saiyan 2!"

My power level shot up to ten billion, and I defeated him decisively. By then, his clothes were in tatters.

He asked who I was and whether I'd joined forces with the Hunger God to attack him.

"Huh? No, I just wanted to spar. Hey, take this. Eat it. It'll heal you. It's called a Senzu Bean."

He was still suspicious, but Wei Dong ate one too. The man hesitated for a long time before finally eating his. He figured he'd be killed if he didn't, so he might as well trust me.

After eating it, his injuries healed. He stared at Wei Dong in shock, and then Wei Dong and the man chatted for a while.

As it turned out, the man was the Sword God, and his name was Sword Saint. Wei Dong asked him repeatedly about the skill that suppressed his opponent's power level. It turned out to be a passive skill of the Killing Sword. The more people you killed, the stronger the skill became—but they had to be evil people. Killing good people didn't increase it at all.

"Still, Sword Saint, this place of yours is pretty nice. I came to this planet to relax. Could I stay here with you? Do you live here alone?"

Sword Saint was speechless. He thought Wei Dong was a chatterbox, the kind of person who'd die if he went a minute without talking.

After answering Wei Dong's questions, Wei Dong started chopping down trees one by one.

"Hey, what are you doing? There aren't many trees on the mountaintop. If you want to chop some down, at least go down the mountain to do it. I worked hard to grow those trees!"

"Fine, fine. Look how upset you are. These trees are so thick and tall, though."

"Obviously. I planted them thousands of years ago."

"Thousands of years? How old are you now?"

"I'm probably almost ten thousand. It's been so long I've lost track."

"Then, Sword Saint, where do you rank in terms of strength on this planet?"

"Me? I'm God Rank 2. I haven't trained much, which would be a waste of my talent. My teacher had high hopes for me and thought I might break through to Star Rank 3. That's all I know."

"Ah, okay. Why is everyone on this planet so strong? Better not act too cocky, or I'll be done for."

"Let's build a house properly. If I'm going to experience life, I have to do things myself." Meanwhile, Android 18 finished making the furniture, and then we went to the city to buy supplies.

We came back after buying everything.
