The sound of something breaking through the air rang out above them.
Raditz's Scouter suddenly began to beep, and he looked up at the sky.
He spotted a green-skinned fellow and someone who looked like this planet's guardian. But they were still too far away for him to make out their features clearly.
Once the Scouter stabilized and registered their power levels at 500 and 550, he immediately relaxed and wore a disdainful expression.
"Just a couple of trash with power levels around 500, and you still dare look down at me from the sky instead of coming down? You're practically begging to die!"
Raditz curled his lips into a cold sneer and raised a hand, firing two Ki Blasts into the sky to knock them down.
But the two in the air neither dodged nor flinched. They took the two Ki Blasts head-on.
Rumble!!!
The explosions boomed. As the smoke cleared, the two of them stood there unharmed. Then they landed, revealing their faces.
They were Piccolo and Son Goku, both of whom had removed their weighted gear.
With their current power levels, an ordinary Ki Blast could no longer do much damage to them.
"Hm? You're still standing? But you're just a couple of weaklings with power levels over 500. Let your big brother Kattiz show you how I deal with you."
Raditz started walking toward them. But when he got a good look at Son Goku, he furrowed his brow.
"Is that you, Kakarot? You've got the exact same face as Dad! Now tell me, why didn't you complete your mission?"
When Son Goku and Piccolo saw the tail coiled around Raditz's waist, they immediately realized he was the Saiyan He Lingxuan had said would invade Earth.
Piccolo still had a strong grudge against He Lingxuan, but after He Lingxuan had taught Son Goku Kaioken and how to get stronger, Son Goku's hostility toward him had eased.
Both of them eyed the clearly ill-intentioned Saiyan warily. Even Piccolo had removed his weighted gear in midair, so he wouldn't be instantly killed by the difference in their power levels.
Hearing Raditz's words and realizing they were meant for him, Son Goku immediately asked, "What do you mean? My name isn't Kakarot. It's Son Goku! And the mission you're talking about—is it to conquer planets? I'd never do something like that!"
"Oh, really? Then let your big brother teach you a lesson. I'll give you one last chance.
"Get rid of that green-skinned freak beside you, then go kill a thousand people and dump their bodies here where I can see them—or let me watch you kill them. If you do, I might consider sparing you."
Having realized that the two of them were nowhere near as powerful as he was, Raditz had been acting arrogantly and barking orders at Son Goku.
Son Goku was about to retort, but Piccolo spoke first. "Son Goku, you can tell his ki is much stronger than ours, right? But he's not unbeatable. At least, he's nothing compared to that guy."
Son Goku glanced at Piccolo. They met each other's eyes, then attacked Raditz at the same time.
"You really don't know when to quit. You don't understand that once the difference in power reaches a certain point, numbers don't matter!" Raditz sneered.
He vanished from where he stood and collided with Son Goku and Piccolo. With just one exchange of blows, both of them were sent flying. They tumbled across the ground, carving long furrows before finally coming to a stop.
Piccolo and Son Goku exchanged a glance, then vanished in opposite directions and threw out several Ki Blasts to obscure Raditz's vision.
Raditz didn't panic. He simply waited for them to attack. With such an overwhelming advantage in power, he might as well have some fun.
But then the smoke from the Ki Blasts blocked his view, and in that instant, Son Goku and Piccolo rushed at him from different directions, raining punches and kicks on him.
For a moment, they actually managed to put Raditz on the back foot. But once he recovered, he unleashed his ki and blasted them both away. Then he swiftly chased after Piccolo and landed a smooth combo that left him sprawled helplessly on the ground.
"Well, look at that—you finally stopped messing around. That's a rare sight."
He Lingxuan watched the fight with interest, ready to step in at any moment. But Raditz seemed a little different from the original story. Maybe it was the butterfly effect, but he had taken Piccolo out first.
Seeing this, Son Goku stopped holding back. Red flames of ki erupted around his body as he arrested his backward momentum and charged straight at Raditz. When Raditz saw Son Goku's power level on his Scouter, his expression changed dramatically.
"Power level 1,600? How is that possible? It's 100 points higher than mine! Could he have been hiding his true strength just now?"
The power level displayed by the Scouter made Raditz's face darken. Still, he wasn't too worried. Son Goku was only 100 points stronger, not enough to overpower and kill him outright.
So he steeled himself, powered up again, and clashed head-on with Son Goku.
The two traded punches and kicks, fighting from the sky down to the ground until the entire farm was reduced to rubble. The waves of ki rolling off them made the trees around the farm rustle wildly!
As he began to fall behind, Raditz called out to Son Goku, "Kakarot, no matter what, I'm your brother! Are you really going to kill me?"
Son Goku's heart softened at those words, and his fierce attack suddenly faltered. Raditz seized the opening, firing a Ki Blast and following it with an uppercut that left Son Goku momentarily unconscious!
He followed up with a smooth combo, knocking Son Goku to the ground.
Raditz walked up to Son Goku, who had lost all strength, and taunted him arrogantly. "I really am your brother, but letting yourself get distracted in a fight is a bad habit!"
Raditz looked at Son Goku glaring furiously at him, then burst out laughing and continued to taunt him.
"Next, I'll find everyone you care about and kill them one by one right in front of you. Then I'll kill everyone on this planet. What will you do then? Hahahaha!"
"Damn you! I'll never forgive you! Never!"
Twofold Kaioken!
Though already exhausted, Son Goku instantly unleashed more than twice his normal power, badly wounding Raditz and leaving him on the verge of death!
But after pushing Kaioken far beyond his body's current limits, Son Goku—whose body was already incredibly weak—was left without a shred of strength and collapsed to the ground.
Piccolo, who had been down for the count, had already recovered. As a Namekian, he had incredible regenerative abilities. As long as he wasn't killed outright, he could recover.
