"Oh~"

"You mean the Metamoran Fusion technique? I know how to do that."

Goku knew the move, of course. He had learned it from a Metamoran in Heaven. The man had told him it was incredibly powerful, but back then, there had been no one who could fuse with Goku using it.

"Soga, Vegeta, let's use this move. We can definitely beat Majin Buu with it."

Goku turned to Vegeta, his face alight with excitement.

"What kind of move is that?"

Vegeta asked in return.

Goku landed and demonstrated the Fusion movements for Vegeta. "Keep the two of your power levels the same, then do this, and that, and you'll fuse successfully."

"Are you kidding me!!!!"

"You expect me to do something this embarrassing??"

"Not a chance!!"

Vegeta's face reddened with anger as he roared at Goku.

Goku tried to talk him down. "What's embarrassing about it?"

"I don't see what's so embarrassing."

Vegeta turned away and crossed his arms, snorting. "I'm not fusing with you, no matter what."

Goku kept trying to persuade him. "Fusion really is powerful. Besides, don't you want to see what Gogito can do?"

"Maybe the power we get from fusing will be enough to beat Gogito!!"

Vegeta paused, clearly tempted.

In the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta had already witnessed Gogito's terrifying power. Compared to Gogito, the Majin Buu before them was nothing.

"Is Fusion really that powerful?"

Vegeta still wasn't entirely convinced, and asked again.

"I promise you, it's even stronger than you can imagine."

Goku vowed earnestly.

"I'm warning you, this is the only time."

Vegeta stressed again that he would only do it once.

Then the ritual began. Goku and Vegeta started to fuse. They stood in a straight line, raised their hands to chest height, turned to the side, and took crablike steps as they traced a semicircle through the air with their hands.

"Fu~sion"

"Wait!"

Just as they were about to finish, Gogito spoke up to stop them.

"Wrong. Your fingers are crooked. Do it again."

"Damn it, this is your fault, Kakarot. Now I have to do that embarrassing move all over again."

"Huh?? It's not just my fault, Vegeta."

Goku grumbled in protest.

The two of them started over.

"Fu~sion"

The moment their fingers touched, a brilliant light burst from their bodies. Everyone else had to shut their eyes; only Gogito could see clearly as their bodies slowly melded together, becoming a new person.

When the light faded, the others opened their eyes and looked toward the spot where the Fusion had taken place.

Gogito also studied the Gogeta before him.

Gogeta had appeared three times in the anime. The first was in a movie, where he fought Janemba. That Gogeta was a man of few words who got straight to the point, dispatching his enemy cleanly and without ever changing his expression.

The second time was in GT, when he fought Omega Shenron. That Gogeta had a completely different personality from the one in Hell. He was playful, liked to fool around, and made a mockery of Omega Shenron. Fans widely nicknamed him the "King of Clowns."

The third time was also in a movie, where he fought Broly. His personality was much like the Gogeta from Hell's, but with a few subtle differences. Though this Gogeta was also cool and stern, his expression held a little more warmth, and his fighting style differed from the other two.

Gogito guessed that Gogeta's personality was determined by the state of mind Goku and Vegeta were in before they fused.

The first time they fused, both of them were already dead. Naturally, their outlook was different from when they were alive. What's more, Janemba had left them helpless. Gogeta had been born in the face of Janemba's overwhelming power, at a desperate moment. Goku and Vegeta had been weighed down by the responsibility of protecting both the afterlife and the living world, with no way out. That was why the Gogeta they became was composed and calm. After briefly introducing himself, he said nothing more and showed no sign of emotion, before crushing Janemba with overwhelming force.

That final, easygoing smile made people wonder: just how strong was Gogeta at his limit?

His second appearance was in Dragon Ball GT's Shadow Dragons arc. By then, Goku had been made small by the Black Star Dragon Balls. Perhaps because of the Dragon Balls, his personality had changed along with his size, making him something like a mischievous old child. Even temporarily growing back into an adult with his Super Saiyan 4 transformation couldn't entirely cancel out the Dragon Balls' influence.

As for Vegeta, this was his first time transforming into a Super Saiyan 4. How could he not be curious about the power of his new form? After all, back in the Cell era, Vegeta had emerged from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and couldn't wait to test his power on Cell, striking that iconic pose as Super Vegeta.

Fusing in that state of mind resulted in a Gogeta whose personality was utterly different from the Gogeta in Hell. Influenced by Vegeta, this Gogeta wanted to test how powerful he was. He took Omega Shenron's Prince Tactics head-on. Influenced by Goku, he created a clone to toy with Omega Shenron. And, driven by their shared sense of responsibility, Gogeta unleashed his ultimate move, the Big Bang Kamehameha, to finish off Omega Shenron. But he didn't have enough energy to defeat his enemy, earning himself the nickname "King of Clowns."

Gogeta's third appearance was in the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie. The circumstances were somewhat similar to the time in Hell, but there were also differences.

This Fusion took place after the Tournament of Power. Goku had experienced Ultra Instinct, leaving him carefree in both movement and spirit. Vegeta had just welcomed a precious daughter, and his relationship with Bulma had grown closer; beneath his tough exterior, he was filled with tender affection for the wife and daughter he wanted to protect. At the same time, the two of them had just been brutally beaten by Broly in his Wrathful form, and had witnessed his terrifying power and physique. The Gogeta born of their Fusion was taciturn, like the one in Hell, but there was a little more warmth in his expression. And while his fighting style retained the overwhelming force and crushing power of the Gogeta from Hell and GT, it was also more free and graceful. With a single move, he turned the opponent's force against him, bringing the aesthetics of martial arts to life.

"How should I put it? This doesn't feel half bad!"

Gogeta clenched and unclenched his fist, feeling the mighty energy within him. He looked up and flashed a confident, captivating smile.

Gogeta slowly rose into the air until he was level with Buu. Buu smiled faintly, too.

"You're even stronger than I expected. Still, you're no match for me."

Gogeta heard this and grinned.

"How would you know if you don't try?"

Golden energy flared around Gogeta as he transformed into a Super Saiyan.

"So this is... Super Gogeta!!!"
