Two Trunks

"Thank you so much, Mr. Gogito."

Trunks could tell that without Gogito, he never would have been brought back to life.

"Haha, if you really want to thank me, just treat me to a big meal."

Gogito teased him with a smile.

"Let's head back first. I'll make you all a big meal."

Bulma took Trunks by the hand and spoke to Gogito.

Beneath the setting sun, their three shadows stretched long across the ground.

Back in the basement, Bulma started cooking while Gogito and Trunks chatted at the dining table.

"Mr. Gogito must be really strong to defeat that monster!"

Trunks thought back to the green-skinned monster that had killed him.

"That monster had several different kinds of ki inside him. He even had some of Big Brother Gohan's."

Trunks thought Cell had destroyed the Earth and left it in this state.

"You mean Cell. After he killed you, that guy took your Time Machine back to the past. The one who's been destroying everything on Earth is someone else—and he's stronger than Cell."

"Perfect Cell was only at the Super Saiyan 2 level, and he only reached that level after nearly dying and reviving thanks to Saiyan cells. When he killed you, he was still in his first form. Trunks, you're still too weak."

"But if he'd stayed here a while longer, he might have been controlled by Babidi or killed by Majin Buu."

Talking about Cell reminded Gogito of Cell's story. The guy wasn't bad. Out of all those bosses, Cell and Kid Buu were the only ones who'd learned Instant Transmission just by watching it once. If Cell hadn't died, he probably could have become even stronger.

In this timeline, Majin Buu had been released right after Trunks died. Then Gogito had arrived, so Trunks's body was still on Earth and his soul hadn't reached Heaven yet.

"Super Saiyan 2? You mean a Super Saiyan?"

Trunks was confused. He only knew about Super Saiyans. What was Super Saiyan 2?

"You can think of it as a further transformation of the Super Saiyan. I'll stay here for a while and train you."

Gogito planned to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber once more. His task here was already complete, and he'd claimed his reward. He'd go inside and get used to God Ki, then see if he could transform into a Super Saiyan God or Super Saiyan Blue.

"Then I'll leave Trunks in your hands, Gogito."

Bulma had heard their conversation, too. She was naturally delighted that Gogito had offered to train Trunks. The stronger Trunks was, the less likely he'd be to die.

After they'd eaten their fill, Gogito took Trunks to Kami's Lookout.

However, when Gogito arrived, the Lookout had been thoroughly wrecked. The interior had been destroyed.

There was no helping it. He couldn't give Trunks a shortcut, so they'd just have to train outside.

A few days passed like this.

That day, as usual, Gogito split off a clone to train Trunks while his real body studied God Ki. After several days of research, Gogito had learned to use God Ki to some extent. It was similar to when Goku had been knocked back to his normal state during his fight with Beerus, then transformed into a Super Saiyan again. His body had already adapted to God Ki. The next step was transforming into a Super Saiyan God and then a Super Saiyan Blue.

While the two of them were busy training, a Time Machine suddenly appeared near the basement.

In an instant, Gogito opened his eyes. Trunks and Gogito's clone stopped fighting, too. They'd all sensed it—the ki of someone exactly like Trunks.

"This ki... It's exactly like mine?"

Trunks was surprised, but he immediately guessed what had happened: another version of himself from some timeline had used a Time Machine to come to his timeline. But what had the other him come here for?

Puzzled, Trunks went to investigate, and Gogito went with him. Gogito had a pretty good idea where this Trunks had come from.

Before long, the two of them returned to the basement. Bulma was laughing and chatting with the other Trunks and Mai. When she saw them come back, she happily called out,

"Trunks, Gogito, you're back!"

Bulma was especially happy. Not only had her son come back to life, but now she had another son here, too—and he'd brought his wife along! It looked like she'd be a grandmother before long!

The two visitors from the future saw Trunks and Gogito return. Future Trunks (whom we'll call Future Trunks from now on, since he was older than the Trunks here) saw Gogito and his eyes widened!

"Vegito?!"

Future Trunks could hardly believe it. That face, so unmistakably invincible—he'd seen it here again! He'd actually encountered the invincible Vegito in this timeline. How was that possible? Could Mr. Goku and his father still be alive in this timeline? No way! And he'd clearly set the Time Machine to arrive before Babidi and Dabura reached Earth, but he'd just heard his mother say someone had already defeated Majin Buu and Babidi. What had gone wrong? Damn, he'd have to think this through!

Gogito was now certain that Future Trunks was the one who'd returned to the past after the Zamasu arc. But Gogito was confused, too. Weren't he and Mai supposed to return to the past and create a new timeline? How had they ended up here?

Gogito asked the system in his mind. After all, he couldn't travel through time himself; every time, he relied on the system to open a passage through time.

"Ding. Answering the host: the energy left behind by the system when the host traveled to this timeline hadn't dissipated yet, and it attracted the Time Machine as it was traveling through time."

"So that's what happened."

Gogito nodded to himself.

"It's Gogito, not Vegito, Trunks,"

Bulma reminded Future Trunks. Trunks explained, too,

"Mr. Gogito came from a parallel timeline as well. He's Mom's brother-in-law—our uncle by marriage."

"He's not Vegito? But..."

Future Trunks still found it hard to believe. Gogito and Vegito had the same face, and even the same aura. That kind of aura wasn't something just anyone could imitate.

"I don't know why I look exactly like Vegito, either. It's hard to explain."

Gogito found the situation rather troublesome. It was one thing when people didn't know Vegito, but when he met someone who'd seen him, he had no idea how to explain it.

"You know about Vegito, too?"

Future Trunks was shocked again. Vegito wasn't someone who could just show up anytime!

"Of course. He's the fusion of Son Goku and Vegeta!"

"I've seen him in another timeline."

Gogito told a small lie, but they didn't know any better. He could say whatever he wanted.

"Lord Beerus said that traveling through time without permission is a serious crime."

Future Trunks told Gogito about the terrible consequences time travel could cause.

"Don't worry, Trunks. I won't cause a new timeline to be created. You can relax."

As if! He was a Transmigrator with a system. So what if he traveled through time? The system would clean up after him. If anything really went wrong, he'd take it up with the system.
