Old Kai

Shin and Kibito were resurrected by Porunga,

"Incredible!!!"

"Did we really come back to life?"

Shin and Kibito both looked utterly disbelieving.

"Where are Babidi and Dabura?"

They looked around until they spotted the shell of the egg that had sealed Majin Buu.

Shin's face turned pale with terror! He stumbled backward, then hurriedly fled with Kibito to the Sacred World of the Kai.

When Babidi had revived Majin Buu, Shin and Kibito had appeared to stop him, but it had been no use. They couldn't beat Dabura and had been killed in an instant. After Majin Buu was revived, Dabura had provoked him, only to be eaten like a snack.

On the Sacred World of the Kai,

"That demon really did come out!!"

The terror of Majin Buu was etched deep in Shin's mind. Just thinking of Majin Buu's harmless-looking face made him tremble all over.

"How terrifying!"

Shin collapsed to the ground, staring blankly, at a loss for what to do.

"Lord Supreme Kai, you have to pull yourself together! You're the only one who can protect this universe!!"

Seeing Shin collapsed on the ground, Kibito hurried over to help him up and encourage him.

It took a long time for Shin to finally pull himself together. Kibito was right. He couldn't give up.

So the two returned to Earth to investigate. From the accounts of those who had been resurrected, they confirmed that Majin Buu really had come back to life and had killed many people on Earth.

However, even after searching Earth cautiously for a long time, Shin and Kibito found no trace of Babidi or Majin Buu. They also didn't run into Gogito and the others, because Majin Buu hadn't destroyed the area around the basement yet. Shin and Kibito had been following the trail Majin Buu left behind, so they never crossed paths.

Then they went searching through space for Babidi and Majin Buu.

But after searching the universe for over half a month, they still found no sign of them. They checked all of Babidi's bases in the universe, but found nothing.

So the two returned to Earth and searched again. This time, they combed the entire planet thoroughly, and ran into the three of them.

"Hey, Lord Supreme Kai!"

Future Trunks greeted Shin warmly when he saw him. He'd been wondering how to find Lord Supreme Kai, and now he'd shown up on his own.

Gogito also came out of his meditation. Trunks and Gogito's clone stopped training as well.

"You know me?"

Shin was a little surprised. Someone here actually knew him?

"Well, it's a little complicated."

Future Trunks tried to explain everything as simply as he could, but it was still shocking.

Gods of Destruction, angels, Grand Zeno, Zamasu, Goku Black, and time travel—what was all this? He'd never even heard of any of it.

Shin was still just as ignorant as ever. Without Old Kai's guidance, he knew nothing.

Shin had no time to figure out why this man knew him. The most important thing was to find out where Majin Buu was.

Shin briefly described Majin Buu and Babidi to the three of them.

"Have you seen either of these two?"

"Babidi and Majin Buu,"

Gogito replied nonchalantly.

"I already took them out."

Gogito stood up, hopped down from the small hill where he'd been sitting in meditation, and walked over to Future Trunks.

"You're the same in every timeline. You keep running all over the place after Babidi and Majin Buu, forgetting your duties as a Supreme Kai."

Gogito continued,

"Let's go to the Sacred World of the Kai."

"What for?"

Shin was confused.

"To make you understand the world you live in."

Gogito looked up, his eyes terrifying. A dreadful aura poured out of him, then vanished in an instant.

"I can't move."

Shin and Kibito broke into a cold sweat. Gogito's terrifying power had left their bodies trembling with fear.

"Let's go."

Kibito obediently took everyone to the Sacred World of the Kai.

"Where's the Z Sword?"

Gogito looked at Shin.

"Follow me. It's over there."

Shin pointed in a direction.

The five of them arrived at a stone pillar, with the Z Sword embedded in it.

Gogito grabbed the Z Sword and pulled it free with just a little effort, leaving Kibito dumbfounded.

Then, right before Kibito's astonished eyes, Gogito snapped the Z Sword in two.

"Ah!"

"The Z Sword broke!!"

Kibito could hardly believe his eyes.

A figure appeared from where the Z Sword had broken. It was Old Kai.

"Well, well, someone finally let me out."

Old Kai was overjoyed. After being sealed away for so long, he'd finally been freed.

"Who are you, sir?"

Shin asked Old Kai.

"I'm your fif—hmm? Your Supreme Kai from fifteen generations ago."

Old Kai counted on his fingers, thought it over carefully, and answered.

"G-great-great-grandfather!!"

Shin was too shocked to speak.

"Long, long ago, there was a really nasty fellow who feared my power and sealed me inside the Z Sword."

As he spoke, Old Kai nodded along, as if that would make the story more convincing.

"I'm finally free!"

Old Kai twisted his waist and stretched his body, looking delighted.

Gogito rolled his eyes and exposed him without hesitation.

"Wasn't it because Lord Beerus was afraid you'd die that he sealed you away?"

Old Kai, who'd been stretching, nearly bulged his eyes out of their sockets.

"What?!"

"How do you know that?"

"Because you're so ignorant, that's how. You don't know anything about Gods of Destruction, angels, or Grand Zeno, and you run around chasing Majin Buu. If I hadn't used Porunga to wish you back to life, you'd have been dead already."

Gogito shook his head and pointed at Shin.

"I let you out so you could teach him properly and stop him from making a mess of things."

"What?"

Old Kai jumped up and down in anger, then punched Shin on the head.

"You idiot! What's so special about Majin Buu that you had to chase him all over the world? Do you even know what a Supreme Kai is supposed to do?"

"Uh, well..."

Shin fidgeted and avoided Old Kai's gaze.

"Huff... huff..."

Old Kai was so angry that he could barely breathe. Shin and Kibito hurried to support him and help him catch his breath.

Only then did Old Kai recover.

"Thank you so much. I'll make sure to teach this junior properly."

"Starting today, you're going to study under me. I'll fill you in on everything you need to know."

Old Kai first thanked Gogito, then pointed at Shin and spoke loudly.

"Uh, well..."

Future Trunks suddenly spoke up.

"Old Kai, can you get in touch with Mr. Whis and Lord Beerus?"
