Beerus and Whis

"That's what happened."

Future Trunks briefly explained what had happened with Zamasu.

"I see."

Old Kai also realized how serious the situation was.

"No problem. I'll contact Whis right away."

Old Kai pulled out something like a mirror from who knew where and called Whis.

"Whis, Whis, are you there?"

Old Kai called into the mirror. Whis appeared inside it. When he saw Old Kai, he looked surprised and covered his mouth.

"Oh my! Old Kai, you broke through the seal!"

The two chatted for a while.

"Old Kai, what can I do for you?"

"It's like this."

Old Kai went on and on, explaining what had happened with Zamasu.

"Oh, if this Zamasu shows up, you want Lord Beerus to take care of him? No problem. What do you think, Lord Beerus?"

Beerus had been straining to eavesdrop ever since Whis answered the call.

Beerus squeezed in and said to Old Kai,

"No problem. If that guy named Zamasu shows up in our universe, I'll deal with him."

Beerus hadn't fought in a long time, and he was itching for some action. If Zamasu showed up, Beerus would teach him a lesson.

Just then, Gogito squeezed in too and spoke to Beerus and Whis.

"Lord Beerus, Mr. Whis, please come visit Earth when you have time."

"Who are you?"

Beerus saw Gogito and asked impatiently.

"Lord Beerus, I'm Gogito. There are lots of delicious foods on Earth!"

Gogito tried to tempt Beerus with food. He didn't believe Beerus could resist.

Gogito's goal was simple: he wanted Whis to train him.

"Really? If you're lying to me, I'll destroy you."

Beerus sounded unconvinced and threatened him.

"Of course, Lord Beerus. If you don't like the food, you can destroy me and Earth together."

Gogito patted his chest, looking completely confident.

As if! Earth had so many delicious foods. Beerus would be hooked for sure. He'd never even tried instant noodles—what could he possibly know about good food?

"You're after something, aren't you?"

Beerus narrowed his eyes, looking as if he'd already seen right through Gogito.

"Haha! You saw right through me, Lord Beerus."

Gogito scratched the back of his head.

"I'd like to ask Mr. Whis to train me."

Gogito didn't beat around the bush and openly stated his goal.

"If Earth's food isn't any good, I won't let Whis train you."

Beerus had lived for so long and eaten all kinds of food. He didn't believe Earth could have anything particularly delicious.

If Gogito wanted Whis to train him, he first had to satisfy Beerus's appetite.

"Then I'll wait for your visit on Earth, Lord Beerus."

Done. Gogito was overjoyed inside. With Whis's guidance, he was sure to reach new heights.

"Well then, Old Kai, we'll be off. Take your time educating your junior."

Gogito gave Shin a look that said, "You're on your own."

Then he led Future Trunks and Trunks away. There was nothing for them to do here, so they might as well go back and prepare more food.

Meanwhile, Beerus and Whis also set off for Earth. They wanted to learn more detailed information about Zamasu from Future Trunks.

In space, Beerus rested one hand on Whis's shoulder as he floated cross-legged, his legs dangling. He propped his head up with his other hand.

"Whis, do you think that guy Gogito was telling the truth? Does that place called Earth really have delicious food?"

"I remember visiting once before. That dinosaur fellow was so rude, I destroyed him."

Whis raised his staff and checked the information on Earth.

"Oh my, Lord Beerus! This planet called Earth has developed a very prosperous human civilization!"

"By the way, Frieza was defeated by a Saiyan on Earth named Son Goku."

"What?!"

Beerus's eyes widened in disbelief. Even though Frieza wasn't much in his eyes, he should have been unbeatable in the universe. And all that had happened while Beerus was asleep.

"Son Goku turned into something called a Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza."

Goku's face appeared inside Whis's staff, showing what had happened on Namek.

"So the strongest person in the universe right now is that guy named Son Goku?"

"No. Son Goku is already dead. He died of a heart disease. Androids appeared on Earth, and they're even stronger than Frieza. Nearly all the people on Earth have been killed."

The image inside Whis's staff showed Android 17 and Android 18, then shifted to Cell and Majin Buu.

Beerus watched the images over Whis's shoulder and remarked,

"That Earth sure has had a lot of trouble!"

"This is all your fault, Lord Beerus. If you didn't sleep for so long every time, and actually fulfilled your duties as God of Destruction, evil people wouldn't have destroyed so many civilizations in our universe. Our universe wouldn't have been ranked near the bottom for so long."

Whis's words greatly annoyed Beerus, who roared at him.

"Shut up, Whis!"

"Sorry, Lord Beerus. I wasn't calling you lazy. Haha."

Whis's apology was top-notch, but his words only provoked Beerus further.

"Hmph!"

Beerus turned away, not wanting to talk. He'd gotten used to Whis's sharp tongue over the years, but it still made him angry.

Whis knew that Beerus would sulk for a while, then get over it.

Before long, Whis and Beerus arrived on Earth.

Gogito had just returned to Earth and started preparing food with Bulma when Beerus and Whis arrived.

At Bulma's house, a large group of people sat around a table in the yard. It was piled high with food.

"Mmm!"

"This is delicious! So is that!"

Whis and Beerus were like country bumpkins seeing a city for the first time.

Gogito was wolfing down food too, while saying,

"See, Lord Beerus? I told you!"

Beerus didn't bother to answer, but he was eating faster and faster.

Gogito noticed at once.

"That's not fair, Lord Beerus!"

So Gogito sped up too.

The table became a battlefield between the two. Whis quickly snatched up the food he'd been saving for last, lest it get caught in the crossfire.

In the end, Beerus and Gogito ate until they were stuffed and lay sprawled on the ground.

"Not bad, kid. You almost beat me."

Beerus said to Gogito,

"Of course, Lord Beerus!"

Gogito managed to reply through his full stomach. He couldn't eat another bite, and just looking at food made him feel sick.

Nearby, Future Trunks and Whis sat beneath a sun umbrella while Future Trunks gave him the details about Zamasu.

"I see."

"A mortal who learned that there were beings stronger than the gods developed a desire he shouldn't have."

Whis pinpointed exactly how Goku Black came to be.

Then Beerus spoke up.

"Should we go to Universe 10 right now and destroy that guy named Zamasu?"

"Lord Beerus, he's from Universe 10. Even if anyone's going to destroy him, that's Universe 10's business."

Whis objected.

"That's true."

Beerus thought of Rumsshi, the God of Destruction of Universe 10. If he found out Beerus had gone and destroyed his universe's Apprentice Supreme Kai, he'd surely come looking for trouble again.
