Gogito's Defeat

"Oh? There's someone even stronger than Gogito?"

Whis couldn't help feeling puzzled when he heard Future Trunks' words.

"No. He was a warrior formed when Mr. Goku and Dad used the Supreme Kai's Potara Earrings to fuse. He had overwhelming power, but because it was too great, the fusion wore off before long."

Future Trunks explained how Vegito came to be.

"I see. A supremely powerful warrior created through Fusion with the Supreme Kai's divine Potara."

With his doubts cleared up, Whis said no more and continued watching the battle between Beerus and Gogito.

In the sky, Beerus and Gogito clashed fiercely. Every collision unleashed terrifying energy, laying waste to everything around them.

"Not bad, kid. You've improved a lot since last time, but it's still not enough."

Beerus increased his power, and Gogito struggled to keep up. He raised his own energy to the maximum and barely held on, but still took a punch or kick now and then, getting pummeled one-sidedly.

Before long, Gogito was sent flying away again. And again.

There was nothing to be done. As the series kept going, Beerus kept getting upgraded, and there was no end in sight.

Back in Battle of Gods, Super Saiyan God Goku fought Beerus, and Whis said Beerus had used 70 percent of his power. Damn it, Whis—you sanctimonious bastard. Sure, it was 70 percent, but the key detail was that his power went up to 10,000 percent.

Later, when Super Saiyan Blue appeared, Kongbei could join forces to hold Beerus at bay.

After the Zamasu arc, Beerus knocked Vegeta out of Super Saiyan Blue Full Power and back to his base form in just a few moves. Beerus had leveled up again.

After the Tournament of Power, Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Vegeta was once again beaten to a pulp by Beerus, who brutalized him using only his feet.

Even now, Beerus's true strength remained a mystery.

Beerus had had enough of playing around and didn't want to continue. This time, he would make sure Gogito couldn't get back up. He raised his hand over his head, and a gigantic energy sphere appeared in his palm. As he continued pouring energy into it, the sphere grew larger and larger. Then Beerus hurled it at Gogito with all his might.

"Doesn't Lord Beerus worry that Gogito might absorb his energy again if he does that?"

Future Trunks asked, confused.

"Mr. Gogito's body reached its limit when he absorbed Lord Beerus's Hakai Energy last time. He can't absorb any more."

Whis, an expert of the highest caliber, saw the problem at a glance.

Gogito caught the energy sphere with both hands. This time, Beerus had used even more power, and Gogito could suffer serious injuries.

As soon as Gogito touched the sphere, it drove him straight into the ground. The sphere exploded in an instant, and Gogito disappeared beneath the terrifying blast of energy.

At that very moment, Whis and Beerus seemed to sense something.

"Hm?"

The smoke cleared, and Gogito was still standing. But he was at the end of his rope, and promptly collapsed, unconscious.

That was right. At the last moment, Gogito had used God Ki. Normally, he couldn't use God Ki in Super Saiyan 4 Form, but after absorbing Beerus's Hakai Energy, his understanding of God Ki had advanced. On top of that, the system had rewarded Vegito with his peerless talent. In the final second, Gogito had barely managed to use it. But he had overestimated himself, and his body couldn't take it. If not for Super Saiyan 4's tough body, he would have been done for long ago. Most of the damage Gogito suffered in the end came from forcing himself to use God Ki; the transformation had blocked most of the explosion's energy.

Super Saiyan Blue was just a Super Saiyan form using God Ki. Gogito had used God Ki in Super Saiyan 4 Form, so it was lucky he hadn't dropped dead on the spot.

Whis immediately went to Gogito's side and healed him.

Once the healing was done, Gogito stood up.

"Woohoo! I thought I was done for this time!"

At the last moment, as soon as Gogito used God Ki, he'd sensed something was wrong. He might have been a goner.

"That was truly spectacular! The battle between Gogito and Lord Beerus. I didn't expect Mr. Gogito to have mastered God Ki, too."

Gogito gave Gogito high praise.

"That power you used at the last moment was interesting. If you can master it completely, you might just become a worthy opponent."

Beerus still had that haughty attitude as he held out his hand.

"?"

Gogito looked confused.

"Damn it, what happened to the delicacies you promised to bring me?!"

Beerus was so irritated he wanted to beat Gogito up all over again.

"Ahaha, sorry for the trouble, Lord Beerus. I'll get them for you right now."

Gogito remembered what he'd said before the fight and turned to Future Trunks.

"Trunks, take that out."

Future Trunks pulled a box of Capsules from his chest, took one out, pressed it, and tossed it aside.

"Poof!"

A huge warehouse appeared, filled with instant food. Gogito opened the doors, went inside, and came back out carrying a box of instant noodles. He handed out a cup to everyone, then explained to Beerus and Whis how to prepare them.

In Beerus's dining room, the five of them sat around the table, waiting for the noodles to be ready. Beerus had thoroughly raided the warehouse Future Trunks had brought, then returned it to him.

As soon as the time was up, Beerus eagerly lifted the lid. The aroma of instant noodles wafted out, and he leaned closer to take a sniff.

"Wow! They smell amazing!"

Beerus picked up a fork and took his first bite.

"Mmm! These are so delicious!!!"

Beerus's eyes lit up as he devoured the noodles—one cup, two cups—until he'd eaten six cups before finally stopping.

Once he'd eaten his fill, what was there to do?

Go to sleep, of course. Beerus returned to his little bed and went to sleep.

Whis, meanwhile, began instructing the three of them.

"After watching Mr. Gogito fight Lord Beerus, I have a good idea of Mr. Gogito's overall strength. His fundamentals are excellent, and he doesn't make any unnecessary movements in battle. He's already very close to perfect."

Gogito had trained on Planet Yardrat for half a year, and his level had already reached its peak. Unless he learned the realm of the gods, it would be difficult for him to improve further. He could only build on his understanding over time, but that would take a long while. Even with Gogito's peerless talent, Master Roshi had reached an extremely high level through years of accumulation. Without anyone guiding him, he had touched the threshold of Ultra Instinct. It was the crudest stage, but still very impressive. If Master Roshi could use divine power, he should be able to master Ultra Instinct.

Perhaps only Master Roshi could match Gogito's level of mastery right now. If they had the same amount of power, Gogito might not be a match for Master Roshi. Of course, it wouldn't be easy for Master Roshi to win, either.

"As for the two Future Trunkses, they have a long way to go, both in strength and in mastery."

Neither of the two Trunkses had trained systematically, and neither had monstrous talent, so they could only learn gradually.

Whis continued.

"For Mr. Gogito to reach this level without anyone guiding him is truly remarkable. Mastery is the hardest thing to improve. Strength, by comparison, is much easier to increase."
