After Gogito returned to his own timeline, he used Instant Transmission to appear beside Tights and pull her into a hug. Tights jumped in surprise. When she saw it was Gogito, her anger flared. He'd promised he'd be back in no time, but he'd been gone for half a year! She reached out and pinched his waist hard.
"Ow, ow, ow!!"
Gogito hurriedly begged for mercy. Why did every woman know that trick?
"Hmph, now you know how powerful I am!"
When Tights saw Gogito pleading, she looked smug.
"Of course. My wife's the most powerful."
Gogito immediately rubbed her shoulders and massaged her legs. If Tights wasn't satisfied, he'd be sleeping on the couch tonight.
"At least you know what's good for you."
Tights gave Gogito a look that said he was finally catching on.
Then Gogito held Tights close as she told him what had happened on Earth during his absence.
According to Tights, after Vegeta and Nappa arrived on Earth, Piccolo and the others stopped them, and the two sides fought fiercely. Goku arrived later and fought Vegeta one-on-one. They both ended up badly injured. Vegeta used the Artificial Moon to transform into a Great Ape, but everyone joined forces and defeated him. They didn't kill him, though, and let him go.
During the fight, however, Vegeta revealed the secret of the Dragon Balls, and Frieza overheard him. Frieza went straight to Earth. After North King Kai warned Goku and the others, they made thorough preparations, but Frieza was simply too powerful, and the whole group was wiped out. In the end, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza, then headed to Namek to seek help.
On Namek, Goku encountered Frieza's father, King Cold. The two sides fought fiercely, and it ended with Namek destroyed and King Cold dead. Just like in the original story, Goku then went to Planet Yardrat to train.
The Namekians used the Dragon Balls to find a new place suitable for them to live.
Hearing that Goku wasn't on Earth, Gogito breathed a sigh of relief.
After that, Gohan continued training under Master Roshi, while Piccolo and Tien Shinhan returned to their own places to train. Yamcha and Bulma broke up, and Yamcha started carousing outside. Vegeta successfully moved in with Bulma.
Gogito and Tights spent the whole day wrapped up in each other. They even ate sitting on the same chair, and nearly bathed together too. Fortunately, Gogito managed to stop himself in time. It would've been bad if things had gotten carried away and someone got hurt.
Early the next morning, Gogito got up and went to the dining room for breakfast. As soon as he walked in, he saw Vegeta eating.
"Well, look at that! Vegeta's up early!"
Vegeta heard someone call his name and looked up. His pupils contracted. This guy... He was a Saiyan.
Vegeta immediately spotted the tail behind Gogito. How was that possible? Apart from him and Kakarot, there was another pure-blooded Saiyan?
"Who are you?"
Vegeta watched Gogito warily, as if he might attack at any moment.
"Relax, Vegeta."
Gogito walked over to the table and sat down, telling the chef to prepare breakfast for him.
Vegeta didn't take his eyes off Gogito for a second. He couldn't gauge how strong the man was. Even now, he could sense how powerful Kakarot was, especially when Kakarot transformed into a Super Saiyan. But this man gave him an insubstantial, elusive feeling. When he closed his eyes, he couldn't sense him at all; yet when he opened them, the man was right there in front of him.
"My name is Gogito. I'm..."
Gogito briefly introduced himself and explained where he came from.
"I see. Just like Kakarot."
After hearing Gogito's explanation, Vegeta summed it up in a few simple words.
"Huh?"
At Vegeta's remark, Gogito's fists clenched. It was true that he and Goku had both been exiled to remote planets because of their poor potential, but hearing Vegeta put it that way still annoyed him. So Gogito decided to beat Vegeta up. Damn it, if you don't know how to talk, keep your mouth shut.
After quickly finishing breakfast, Gogito asked Vegeta,
"Do you want to know how to transform into a Super Saiyan?"
Vegeta had dreamed of becoming a Super Saiyan. Hearing the question, he answered without hesitation.
"Of course I do. What, you know how?"
"Of course. It's just a Super Saiyan transformation."
Gogito's lips curled into a faint smile, and he transformed on the spot. Golden flames enveloped his body. From a distance, he looked like an oversized lightbulb.
"Damn it!!"
Seeing Gogito really transform into a Super Saiyan, Vegeta clenched his fists in anger.
"How do I become a Super Saiyan?"
"Is that how you ask someone for help?"
Gogito crossed his arms and simply watched Vegeta. Vegeta clenched his fists, feeling mortified. He was the prince of the Saiyans. When had he ever asked anyone for help?
They stood at an impasse for a while. In the end, Vegeta lowered his head.
"Please teach me how to become a Super Saiyan."
"That's more like it. If you're asking for help, act like it."
Gogito nodded in satisfaction, then flew out the window.
"Come with me."
Gogito led Vegeta to a desolate area. Transforming into a Super Saiyan for the first time meant he wouldn't be able to control all that power, and it could damage the surroundings. Gogito didn't want his home wrecked.
"To transform into a Super Saiyan, you need a calm heart and a steady mind. Then, anger triggers a rapid increase in the S-Cells in your body, and you'll be able to transform."
"You've been living on Earth for several months, so you should meet the requirements. You can try transforming."
Gogito said all that, but the only word Vegeta took in was "anger." He couldn't make sense of the rest. S-Cells, a calm heart, a steady mind—he could throw all of that out the window.
"Ha!!!"
Vegeta roared at the sky and unleashed all his power. But nothing about him changed.
Seeing Vegeta like that, Gogito knew he hadn't understood. So he provoked him.
"Vegeta, if you can't become a Super Saiyan, you'll spend your whole life under Kakarot's heel. Maybe even Gohan will be able to transform one day, and the gap between you and them will keep growing until you can't even see their backs."
Hearing that, Vegeta felt anger well up inside him. How could he let Kakarot keep him under his heel? He was furious that he couldn't become a Super Saiyan. Over and over, Vegeta asked himself why. At last, his anger reached its peak, and a golden glow began to rise around him.
"Ha!!!!"
Vegeta roared and finally transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Vegeta felt exhilarated. He had finally become a Super Saiyan too. He felt invincible now, power surging through his body without end. He was sure he could defeat Kakarot—and Gogito, standing right in front of him.
A familiar, confident smile appeared on Vegeta's face. Everyone knew that whenever Vegeta wore that smile, he was about to get beaten up. This time was no exception.
