Tree of Might

"Kakarot, come quick! That planet over there is so strange. There's a super huge tree growing on it!!!"

Tights shouted from beside the window.

Hearing her, Gogito walked over to the window too. He looked at the enormous tree on the distant planet and rubbed his chin.

"That looks kind of familiar."

"Ding! A system mission has been issued."

"Mission: Defeat Turles and save the surviving humans."

"Reward: Tree of Might seed, 10 Senzu Beans."

"Failure penalty: Seal all of the host's power for one day."

After being silent for so long, the system had finally come online and issued its first mission.

Well, well, a mission at last. The rewards were a Tree of Might seed and 10 Senzu Beans. Not bad!

So that enormous tree was the Tree of Might. A planet planted with one would have its life force drained away, leaving no signs of life for hundreds of years. It might even destroy the planet.

"Let's go down and take a look, Tights," Gogito said to her.

"Won't it be dangerous? That tree doesn't look like anything good." Tights didn't agree right away. She'd traveled through space for a long time and had a good eye for this sort of thing.

"That thing isn't a threat to me. But the person who planted it might be one of our fellow Saiyans. We can't let someone like that go around destroying things," Gogito explained.

"Fine, then. I can collect material while we're at it. Maybe it'll make my novel a huge hit." Tights was getting excited at the thought.

So Tights piloted the spaceship down toward the planet.

After landing, Tights turned the spaceship into a Capsule, then took out another Capsule and turned it into an airplane.

All along the way, they saw cracked earth and yellow sand everywhere. It looked like the Tree of Might's fruit was almost ripe, and the planet was close to being drained dry.

They could see the Tree of Might from far away. Explosions and smoke filled the area around it. The planet's natives were apparently fighting Turles and his gang, but things weren't looking good for them.

"Damn it! Why can't we destroy that tree?!" In a huge room, a group of people stared at a giant screen. The man standing at the front spoke.

"Does this mean our planet is really going to be destroyed?"

"No! Send out more troops. We have to destroy that tree and those people!"

"Those people are too strong. Our weapons are useless against them. We can't even hit them!"

The group argued among themselves, but their disagreements only caused more conflict. The room was in chaos.

Meanwhile, Gogito and Tights had reached the area near the Tree of Might. Turles had spotted the two of them and was a little curious. There were still people who weren't afraid to die and dared to come here?

Suddenly, his pupils contracted. He saw Gogito stepping out of the airplane, and immediately noticed his freely swaying tail.

"A Saiyan? Didn't all the Saiyans die when Planet Vegeta exploded? Why is there one here?"

All sorts of thoughts flashed through Turles's mind.

Gogito looked at Turles and sighed.

"He looks so much like Kakarot. Same crab-shaped hair, but their temperaments are completely different. Kakarot has clear eyes with a hint of stupidity, while Turles is evil and cold. If Kakarot hadn't hit his head, maybe he'd have turned out like this too."

While Gogito was musing, Turles had already come right up to him. Looking at the two Saiyans before her, Tights felt they were completely different. Gogito simply stood there, yet she could feel his confident, wild, powerful presence. Maybe that was what attracted her to him.

Turles, on the other hand, was obviously no good. He had a vicious look in his eyes and acted like he was the greatest man alive. What a jerk.

"Hey, you're a Saiyan too, right? Want to fight alongside me?" Turles pointed at the Tree of Might behind him.

"That thing can make you much stronger in no time. Join me, and I'll share some of it with you."

One of his underlings wasn't happy about that and spoke up.

"Hey, boss, it doesn't produce much fruit to begin with. Now you want to share it with him too? We won't stand for that!"

A few of the others chimed in as well.

"That's right, boss. Let's take him out!"

One of them rushed forward and threw a punch, but Gogito dodged it with ease. The underling refused to give up and attacked again. Gogito threw a punch in return, hitting him in the stomach. The man collapsed to the ground, groaning.

"I said, you don't need to send your underlings to test me. I could take care of little nobodies like you with one hand."

Gogito spoke with confidence.

"You've got a big mouth. You lot, get him!" Turles ordered the remaining men to attack together.

Several underlings rushed at him. Gogito shook his head and raised his hand, firing off several ki blasts that sent them straight to their deaths. Turles and his men were all bad people, so Gogito showed no mercy.

Seeing his men wiped out in an instant, even Turles could tell that Gogito was no pushover.

"Join forces with me, and with the Tree of Might, we'll be ruling the universe in no time."

Turles still wouldn't give up and kept trying to convince him.

Gogito didn't want to listen. He teleported in front of Turles and punched him in the stomach, sending him crashing into the Tree of Might.

"If you love the Tree of Might so much, then disappear along with it."

With that, Gogito gathered energy into a ki blast and fired it straight at Turles.

A tremendous explosion rang out. Gogito destroyed the Tree of Might with a single ki blast, and Turles went to meet King Yemma along with his underlings.

Gogito went over to Tights and shielded her from the blast wave and flying debris.

After the Tree of Might was destroyed, it turned into tiny points of life energy that returned to the planet. New plants began to grow across the land, and water reappeared in the lakes and rivers. Countless animals had homes again. They lifted their heads and roared with excitement, celebrating the happiness they had regained.

Just then, a large formation of airplanes flew in from the distance and landed quickly. A group of people climbed out and hurried over to Gogito. The man at the front bowed respectfully and said,

"Arigato."

The people behind him bowed as well.

"Arigato~"

Gogito replied calmly,

"It was no trouble. There's no need to thank me."

"For you, it was a small thing. For us, it was an enormous kindness. Please allow us to invite you and your companion to dine at the royal palace."

When food was mentioned, Gogito perked right up. In his previous life, he'd been a food lover and had planned to try every kind of Chinese cuisine. He hadn't gotten the chance before he transmigrated. Now that he was in the Dragon Ball world, he planned to eat his way across the entire universe.

The group arrived at the royal palace and was ushered straight through to a great hall. A gigantic table inside was covered with all kinds of food. Gogito's mouth watered at the sight, and he hurried over and started eating.

His table manners made Tights cover her head in embarrassment. He was disgracing himself in front of everyone.

The rest of the group was also stunned. They hurriedly called the kitchen and asked them to prepare more food.
