Background / History

Ling Xuan transmigrated into the body of Louis, a six-year-old high-class Saiyan living on Planet Vegeta in Age 736. With one year remaining before Frieza's planned destruction of the planet, he awakened a Sign-in System and received Immunity as a novice reward. 1

Louis deliberately sought Beerus out at King Vegeta's palace to complete a sign-in mission. His resistance to Beerus's pressure and attacks, coupled with his newly acquired Rudimentary Autonomous State, convinced Beerus to recruit him as Universe 7's Candidate God of Destruction. Beerus subsequently spared the Saiyans and ordered them to join the Galactic Patrol. 2 3

A projection of the Grand Priest attempted to erase Louis but failed due to his constitution. The Grand Priest then instructed Whis to train him. Over the following ten years, Louis trained in strength, dimensional cultivation, and the rules of destruction, eventually learning to wield Destruction Energy. 5

As a Candidate God of Destruction, Louis accepted responsibility for improving Universe 7's standing. He released Old Supreme Kai from the Z Sword so that Shin could receive proper guidance, while Louis himself continued carrying out planetary-destruction missions under Whis's supervision. 6 7

Appearance

Louis initially appears as a young Saiyan child, but years of divine training leave him considerably taller and more refined in appearance. He has a lean frame concealing well-developed musculature. 1 5 17

Personality

Louis is confident, irreverent, and unusually composed around divine beings. As a child, he calls Beerus “big kitty,” yet he is calculating enough to understand that being immune to damage does not prevent imprisonment, starvation, or dehydration. 3

He initially shows little attachment to the Saiyan race, openly refusing King Vegeta's request to rescue Vegeta from the Frieza Force. Over time, however, he becomes more willing to guide the Saiyans toward self-reliance rather than solve every crisis for them personally. 9 21 38

Louis can be ruthless in combat and destruction work, eliminating Frieza Force soldiers and killing Cui for hunting Tights. He is also capable of remorse: after Namek is damaged in a later conflict, he gives Spirit Fruits to the Grand Elder as an apology. 14 15 37

His gentler side is most evident around Tights. He protects her, supports her ambitions, grants her eternal youth, and eventually confesses his love for her. 11 19 20
