Background

Beerus ordered Frieza to destroy the Saiyan race before entering slumber. The stated reasons were the Saiyans' atrocities alongside the Frieza Force and the threat their combined influence posed to Universe 7's stability. Beerus instead permitted the Saiyans to survive under Galactic Patrol oversight after Louis became a Candidate God of Destruction 1 3.

During Beerus's sleep, Frieza served as his proxy for planetary destruction. His force's indiscriminate expansion and destruction of both qualified and unqualified planets eventually angered Beerus 38.

Appearance

Frieza is depicted with purple-and-white skin, a hard bone-like outer layer, triangular eyes, and an overtly sinister expression. He commonly travels in a hovering pod described as a “stroller” or “baby carriage” 14.

Frieza becomes afraid to openly pursue the Saiyans after learning that Louis is a Candidate God of Destruction. This restraint allows the Saiyans to grow stronger within the Galactic Patrol 16.

Hunt for the Dragon Balls

Frieza learns of a legend concerning immortality and turns his attention to the Dragon Balls. He intends to use them to eliminate the Saiyans, Louis, and Beerus and rule the universe alone 23 30.

Battle of Namek

Frieza leads 2,000 Frieza Force troops to Namek against King Vegeta's Saiyan force. After Ginyu and the Frieza Force are defeated, Frieza personally fights the Saiyans, raising his strength from 530,000 to 1,000,000 combat power 31 32.

Facing the Saiyans' Great Ape forms, Frieza reveals his final form at 60,000,000 combat power. He decisively overpowers King Vegeta, Vegeta, Son Goku, Bardock, Bibert, and Theodore 33 34.

Frieza kills Bardock, causing Son Goku to become a Super Saiyan. Although Frieza unleashes 120,000,000 combat power, Son Goku overwhelms him. Louis then appears and kills the incapacitated Frieza with a ki blast rather than Destruction energy 34 35.
