Jeice also opened his Scouter in disbelief. The reading stopped at 65,000!! Shock and disbelief filled his voice. "A Saiyan... h-how could one be this strong!!?"
"Heh~! Jeice, don't trust the number on the Scouter. There are some strange races in the universe that can control their battle power at will!! His power is far greater than that." Ginyu spoke up to warn him.
"Tsk~! Captain Ginyu really does know his stuff. Your men aren't very good, though." Karochi said with a hint of mockery on his face.
Jeice and Burter wanted to retort, but Ginyu stopped them. There was no point in trading insults. "You know my name, so this will be easy! As a Saiyan, you must know Lord Frieza. I'll give you one chance to join us!!"
"C-Captain!!?" Jeice cried out, baffled. Weren't they here to avenge Recoome and Guldo? Why were they recruiting him now???
Ginyu's cold gaze swept over Jeice. Jeice sure had a lot to say today!!! Jeice quickly shut his mouth and stepped aside.
Burter had wanted to speak up too, but he sensibly kept quiet when he saw the captain's icy gaze!! He looked at Jeice with sympathy. Jeice really had been dancing in a minefield all day!!
"Join you??" Karochi was dumbfounded. Was this guy for real? Look at the tail behind me! Bringing me before Frieza would be like slapping him in the face.
Besides, work for Frieza? No thanks. Forget benefits and pension!! Working around the clock for Frieza would be a blessing; nobody under him had any rights.
And what was Frieza, anyway, that Karochi should work for him? Saiyans would never be slaves!!
"Enough with these pointless tricks!! Let's fight. I really want to see how strong Captain Ginyu, Frieza's most capable subordinate, is." Karochi didn't want to waste time talking. If they could fight, why keep jawing? Just get to it!! Well, if it were Frieza, Karochi wouldn't mind chatting with him. But who was Ginyu to think he could talk to him??
"That's a shame. You're such a young warrior, too!" Ginyu seemed quite disappointed; even his desire to fight had waned. He turned to Jeice and Burter and ordered, "Jeice, Burter, you two play with him first! Don't worry, I'll watch from the sidelines."
Jeice and Burter were inwardly against it. What were they supposed to do? The captain himself had said Karochi's power was far above 65,000. Sending them out there would be like throwing their lives away! They could provide backup instead!! But they didn't dare defy Ginyu's orders, especially Jeice!!
"Yes, Captain ×2," the two men said loudly.
They stepped out side by side, their eyes full of reluctance and wariness!!
"Jeice, you go first!!" Burter urged him from beside him. It wasn't that he was trying to make things difficult for Jeice; he just wanted Jeice to make a good impression on the captain!!?
Jeice was stunned! Weren't they supposed to go together!? You're telling me to charge in first!? After all this time as partners, you can't trust me!?
"How about rock, paper, scissors?" Jeice suggested. There was no way he was going to be the one to charge in first.
Ginyu was furious to see the two of them hesitate. "If you don't want to go, I can send you both off myself!!!!" This was his final warning.
Jeice and Burter didn't dare waste another moment. They charged at Karochi together!!
"Heh~! Good. Come on." Karochi smiled. Though Jeice and Burter were the ones coming at him, most of his attention was fixed on Ginyu's every move.
"Brat, you really think we're afraid of you! Jeice, use your special move while I keep him occupied." Burter charged ahead and called to Jeice. Jeice felt touched. Burter still loved him!!!
Without hesitation, Jeice raised his left palm and held it aloft! His body twisted as energy gathered in his hand.
Burter didn't charge straight at Karochi, either. Instead, he darted around him from every direction!! His special move was High-Speed Movement, and speed was his greatest advantage!!
"Haha! Brat, how do you like that? Can't even see me, can you!! My speed is the fastest in the universe!" Burter's raucous laughter rang in Karochi's ears.
Karochi couldn't help sneering. Who had given this guy such confidence?? That speed was supposed to be the fastest in the universe? Forget Karochi—even his captain's face had turned purple!!! Did Burter have no regard for Ginyu? Or Frieza!?
Karochi clenched both fists and crossed his arms in front of his chest! At the same time, he widened his stance, and an invisible aura gathered around him! Burter, who had been running his mouth, felt his heart leap into his throat. He'd said all that mostly to bolster his own courage. "Jeice, are you done yet!!?"
Damn it, why was Jeice taking so long!!
"Burter, move!!!" Jeice shouted, throwing the energy ball in his hand at Karochi.
Destruction Sphere was the strongest finishing move Jeice could muster! Burter heard him and was about to dodge when Karochi's voice rang out.
"It'd take too long to send that flying back! Let me help you. Hah~ah~~!" Karochi thrust both palms forward and roared, sending Burter flying.
The immense pressure forced Jeice back dozens of steps. Even so, Jeice showed little sign of discouragement! He watched his own Destruction Sphere with eager anticipation. As for Burter, who even knew him?
The Destruction Sphere flew straight at Karochi, and he was a little surprised!! He'd originally thought he could knock the thing away along with everything else. But he couldn't care less now. He drew his right hand up to his neck and chopped hard at the incoming Destruction Sphere.
Hmph~! Foolish. Even Captain Ginyu wouldn't dare face my attack head-on, Jeice thought mockingly. Just then, Burter came flying back. "Jeice, you left me to die!!" Burter was furious. He'd risked his neck to distract the Saiyan, and Jeice hadn't even caught him after finishing his big move.
"Burter, don't be angry!! Look, my Destruction Sphere hit him." Jeice turned and tried to soothe him. Burter looked over, and what he saw nearly made his eyes pop out of his head. "Jeice, are you fucking blind!!? That stupid ball is coming right at us!!"
As he spoke, Burter grabbed Jeice by the arm and raced upward! Sure enough, the next moment, Jeice's Destruction Sphere streaked past the spot where they'd been.
Jeice and Burter broke into cold sweats at the sight!! They'd nearly been killed by their own attack. Ginyu watched everything coldly from the side, seemingly unconcerned whether his subordinates lived or died.
"B-Burter! How about we use that move??" Jeice stammered. He'd used his strongest attack, and Karochi was still completely unscathed. He was overwhelmed by despair.
Burter thought it over briefly, then agreed with a nod. He didn't dare get close to Karochi again!!
Karochi watched Jeice and Burter stand side by side. They really did look like a couple. Red and blue made a classic pairing.
Jeice and Burter combined their auras, their power spinning into a red-and-blue vortex—Purple-Red Comet Impact.
Countless purple energy balls shot out of it, each one slightly more powerful than Jeice's Destruction Sphere! Karochi was a little surprised. Was this some kind of bargain-bin fusion technique?
Before he could think any further, Karochi was surrounded by a skyful of purple energy balls!! He stopped holding back and unleashed his full power. A terrifying aura surged from his body! White flames flared around him, and an invisible barrier formed in front of him, blocking every purple energy ball.
Boom~! Boom~! Boom!
The energy balls battered the barrier, causing massive explosions and clouds of smoke!! Meanwhile, Karochi's battle power continued to climb.
"What ×2~~!!??" Jeice and Burter separated, panting heavily. Their combined technique had clearly taken a huge toll on them. Now they stared in horror at the numbers on the Scouter, which kept jumping higher.
"Well done, Jeice, Burter!" Ginyu murmured, staring at the Scouter as if he were anticipating something.

Even at 90,000, Karochi's aura continued to rise!! The smoke and dust around him had long since been blown away. His immense power shook the ground, while tiny pebbles floated into the air. Faint arcs of electricity flickered and danced around him.

He hadn't even reached 100,000, but this Saiyan hadn't yet reached the peak of his growth! With such a young body, Ginyu could no longer suppress the excitement in his eyes.
He wanted that body!!!
After increasing his battle power by tens of thousands, Karochi didn't waste time talking like Goku in the original story! He planned to take out Jeice and Burter before Ginyu could act, at least making sure they couldn't interfere.

Without a moment's hesitation, Karochi whipped out a kick!! He aimed for Jeice's neck, clearly going for the kill. Ginyu realized something was wrong and immediately rushed to help, but he was still a step too late.

Jeice's neck snapped, the crisp sound of breaking bone terrifying Burter. He no longer even had the courage to run!! Karochi was so powerful that Burter had lost all thought of resisting. Perhaps only Captain Ginyu could defeat this Saiyan.
"Bastard~! Large Energy Blast." Ginyu was enraged. Karochi had killed his subordinate right in front of him! Ginyu didn't care whether Jeice lived or died, but he did care about his own reputation. He fired a deep purple energy ball.
Before it reached Karochi, it expanded and exploded! The blast instantly engulfed an area more than a hundred meters across. Even Karochi couldn't dodge it. And, of course, their "fastest in the universe," Burter, was caught in it too. Jeice, meanwhile, had been lucky enough to avoid the blast because of that kick. He fell to the ground, barely breathing, and let out a series of hoarse gasps.
