"See you in three years."
"Goodbye."
Everyone gathered outside the martial arts school to say their farewells.
"Goku, your clothes are all torn up. I brought an extra set, so here, change into these." Krillin took a martial arts uniform from his luggage and handed it over.
"Thanks."
"What a shame. You were so close to winning the championship."
"There's nothing to be done. A loss is a loss," Goku said with a smile.
"Actually, I was just a little luckier. Are you really sure you don't want half the prize money?" Tien Shinhan asked, looking at Goku.
"No thanks! I don't know how to use money anyway, so it'd be no use to me," Goku said casually as he changed.
What? If you don't want it, I do. Who ever complained about having too much money?
Sun Wumian hurriedly spoke up. "Tien Shinhan, you can give your half to me. I'll thank you on Goku's behalf."
"Would that be all right?"
"Sure. I'm his big brother, so I'll accept it for him."
"Huh? Is that so? But you two don't look alike at all."
"Haha, actually, Goku and Wumian were both found by my student, Son Gohan," Master Roshi explained.
"I see. All right, then." Tien Shinhan handed half the prize money to Sun Wumian.
"Well, how about we all go get something to eat and regain our strength?" Master Roshi suggested.
"Yeah, yeah!" At the mention of food, Goku practically started drooling.
"Sounds good! I'll treat everyone to a big feast," Bulma said generously.
"Oh no! I forgot to get the Dragon Ball and the Power Pole!" Sun Wukong suddenly remembered.
"You scared me! I thought something had happened. I'll go get them for you." Krillin started walking inside.
Wait, that's right. King Piccolo had already been released by the Pilaf Gang at this point, Sun Wumian suddenly remembered.
"Krillin, come back!" he shouted, quickly stopping him. "I'll go get them."
"Huh? What's wrong? Did something happen?" Krillin stopped and turned around, puzzled.
"Nothing. It's just that if you go in there, you'll probably die."
"Huh? You're joking, right? Is some kind of monster going to show up in there?"
"That's right, a monster really is going to show up. I'll explain everything later. I'll be right back."
Sun Wumian left them with that and walked into the martial arts school on his own.
Inside, he saw Tambourine, one of the underlings King Piccolo had created, holding Goku's Four-Star Ball and the World Martial Arts Tournament register.
"Kid, if you don't want to die, move aside. You're in my way." Tambourine had gotten what he came for and was about to leave.
"You're so hideous, you're an eyesore. Disappear." Sun Wumian merely glanced at him. Without even seeming to move, he took the Dragon Ball and register, then fired a ki blast that made Tambourine disappear forever.
"Tch. Filthy ash." He recalled something Vegeta had once said. It was so iconic that it had stuck in his mind.
"What happened?"
Master Roshi, Goku, and the others hurried over when they heard the commotion.
"Goku, here are the Dragon Ball and the Power Pole. Stop being so forgetful."
Sun Wumian handed the items to Goku, then turned to the others. "It's nothing. King Piccolo has just returned to the world, that's all. I took care of one of his underlings."
"What? K-King Piccolo? He shouldn't be able to return to this world!" Master Roshi said, recalling some unpleasant memories.
"Someone released him, of course. The Evil Containment Wave only sealed him inside a rice cooker and sank it to the bottom of the sea."
"King Piccolo? Who came up with such a ridiculous name?" Yamcha said, sweating.
"I think I've heard of him. He was the demon king who once plunged the world into terror... But..." Tien Shinhan chimed in.
"But though his name sounds cute, he's incredibly terrifying. No one can match his martial arts skills, and the monsters he created turned a peaceful world into a world of death," Master Roshi continued.
"Young Master Shen and I were no match for him at all. Neither was our master, Mutaito. In the end, he created the secret Evil Containment Wave technique and sealed King Piccolo inside a rice cooker, sacrificing his own life in the process."
Master Roshi continued to recall the past. "I personally sank the rice cooker holding him to the bottom of the sea. King Piccolo shouldn't have been able to return."
"Could it have been Master Shen...?" Chiaotzu guessed.
"No. He knows how terrifying the demon king is. He wouldn't do something like that." Master Roshi shook his head.
"All right, you've all heard the story. I'm here, so I'll show him what real terror is. But shouldn't we eat first?" Sun Wumian said nonchalantly.
"Wumian, I don't know how strong you've become, but King Piccolo's terrifying power is beyond what you can imagine." Master Roshi looked grave.
"Bulma, didn't you say you'd treat us? Forget them. Let's go eat, just the two of us." Sun Wumian turned to Bulma. He could deal with King Piccolo with one finger, so there was nothing to worry about.
For some reason, his appetite had been growing, too. Maybe it had something to do with his Saiyan bloodline.
"Big Brother Wumian's right! We need to eat our fill before we can fight some demon king. Let me have a go at him first later!" Goku raised his hand in agreement.
"Sure, let's eat first. Then I want to see what this King Piccolo is like, too," Bulma said fearlessly.
Rumble...
Bulma piloted a large aircraft and caught up with a black one ahead of them.
"Are you King Piccolo? Huh, you three?" Sun Wumian jumped onto the platform atop the black aircraft and pointed at the Pilaf Gang.
"No, no, it's not us! The King Piccolo you're talking about is inside the plane." The three waved their hands in fright.
"Boy, what do you want?" A green-skinned man emerged from inside.
"I heard you're strong. I want to fight you," Goku said innocently.
"Haha, you don't know how terrifying I am, the Great Demon King? Of course not. It's been such a long time, after all."
"Enough talk. Take this!"
Hya-yah-yah...
The two fought from the aircraft down to the ground.
Goku's battle power was a little higher than it would have been under normal circumstances, reaching 180, but old King Piccolo's battle power was 210.
So after holding out for a while, Goku was defeated. Now it was Sun Wumian's turn to step in.
Sun Wumian pointed lightly, and a ki blast punched a huge hole through King Piccolo's chest.
"How can this be? I, King Piccolo, was defeated with just one attack?"
It had happened so quickly that he could hardly believe it.
"But my demon clan will never disappear." King Piccolo murmured, then spat out an egg that flew far away.
