Young Nail returned to the Grand Elder's residence.
"Grand Elder, I'm back!" Young Nail said in a low voice.
The Grand Elder quietly watched Young Nail.
After a while,
the Grand Elder smiled and said, "Are you upset that I didn't unlock your potential?"
"No!" Nail replied.
The Grand Elder shook his head. He knew what Nail was thinking.
It was nothing more than worrying that he wasn't strong enough to protect Namek in the future.
The Grand Elder said nothing more and began telling him about Namek's history.
The great disaster that had once struck Namek had brought the Namekians to the brink of life and death, forcing many of them to flee...
The Grand Elder also talked about their people. The Namekians weren't very strong fighters, and even the most gifted warrior-type Namekians had their limits.
"Our people once had an extraordinarily talented warrior named Slug. His battle power exceeded ten million."
The Grand Elder continued, "But even he wouldn't be able to stand against the enemies of the future."
"Do you understand, child?"
Young Nail's eyes widened. So their people had once had such a powerful warrior, and even he hadn't been a match for the future enemy?
The Grand Elder had told Young Nail all this to explain that the Namekians revered nature. Even during the great disaster, they hadn't used the Dragon Balls to change their fate. They wouldn't use the Wishing Orbs unless they had no other choice.
Another reason was that the Namekians generally weren't very strong. They couldn't defeat the enemies of the future and could only ask others for help!
Hearing this, Young Nail nodded helplessly.
Kasso, don't disappoint me in the future! Young Nail thought.
Since the Grand Elder said Kasso could save Namek in the future, all they could do was rely on him.
Young Nail then went outside and continued training hard, hoping he could do his part for Namek in the future.
Watching Young Nail's retreating figure, the Grand Elder fell into deep thought.
"Why has the future changed so much?"
Meanwhile,
Kasso flew to where the spaceship had landed.
He glanced back in the direction of the Grand Elder's residence.
Then he reached out and touched the spaceship, using Instant Transmission toward Planet Yardrat.
Several days passed.
"Phew! Phew!" Kasso lay on a mountain peak in the southern part of Planet Yardrat, gasping for breath.
His battle power was only 12,000, and he wasn't very skilled at sensing "ki." He had used Instant Transmission hundreds of times in space, depleting his "ki" completely several times along the way. He'd also needed to rest many times before he finally made it back to Planet Yardrat.
"I finally made it back to Planet Yardrat!"
Kasso rested for a while. Using Instant Transmission was exhausting, but it was much faster than traveling by spaceship.
He had also become a little more sensitive to "ki." If he ran into Young Nail again, he reckoned he could find him in less than a second.
And after depleting his "ki" several times, his battle power had increased a little, too.
Kasso's battle power: 12,500 points.
Kasso looked up at the sky.
It was purple, with several wispy clouds drifting together across the horizon. A gentle breeze blew through them, lending the scene an ethereal quality.
"I wonder how Little Biel is doing."
Kasso had been away for months, and he missed Ausbie dearly.
He had never been away from Little Biel for so long, not even when he was on Planet Vegeta. He'd had no choice but to leave this time. If Little Biel had successfully learned Instant Transmission and didn't see him when she came out, she would be frantic.
The image of Little Biel crying appeared in his mind. Kasso was beside himself with worry and wanted to see her as soon as possible.
But his "ki" hadn't recovered yet, and there was nothing he could do.
Time ticked by.
At last, Kasso's "ki" had recovered somewhat. He couldn't wait any longer and activated Instant Transmission.
The Secret Technique Room on Planet Yardrat.
A little girl sat before a stone tablet, her chubby face scrunched up as if she were facing something extremely important.
Suddenly!
The little girl's face lit up with delight.
She raised her tiny hand and pressed a finger to her forehead.
"Here!" the little girl murmured.
Her entire body vanished from the spot.
Outside the Secret Technique Room.
Kasso appeared there and glanced at the two guards.
"Just as I thought."
His earlier guess had been right. The two guards' battle power was indeed around 5,000.
As Kasso was pondering this, a little girl appeared in midair.
"Little Biel!"
Kasso was overjoyed. He flew up at once and hugged her tightly.
"Brother Kasso!" Ausbie said happily.
Kasso held her soft body close, breathing in her familiar scent.
"Little Biel!" Kasso murmured, resting his chin on Ausbie's head.
"Brother Kasso, don't hug me so tightly!" A flush spread across Ausbie's fair little face. She was having trouble breathing. Why did Brother Kasso seem a little strange?
"I... I'm sorry."
Kasso felt a little embarrassed, but then he realized something.
"You learned Instant Transmission?" Kasso asked in astonishment.
He'd just seen Little Biel appear in midair rather than fly over, so she must have learned Instant Transmission. But wasn't that a little unbelievable?
If he remembered correctly, Little Biel had only been studying it for eleven months.
Kasso wasn't the only one who was shocked. The two guards outside the Secret Technique Room were so stunned their jaws nearly hit the floor!
They had never seen anyone so talented. And one was even more impressive than the other: that little fellow named Kasso had learned Instant Transmission in just half a year, making him even more astonishing than the little girl.
On Planet Yardrat, only the super-geniuses of history had learned Instant Transmission in such a short time.
"I... I only know a little!" Little Biel said, somewhat embarrassed.
Ausbie told Kasso that she could only use Instant Transmission over short distances for now. She couldn't teleport long distances, and sometimes it didn't work at all!
Even so, Kasso was still amazed.
Little Biel was probably having trouble because she wasn't familiar with "ki" and her own strength was still low.
Kasso thought for a moment. Goku probably wasn't any better at her age!
"Brother Kasso, I'm hungry!" Ausbie said shyly.
Kasso patted her head. "Come on, let's go find something to eat."
"Mm!" Little Biel nodded happily.
Kasso took Ausbie to a nearby planet, where beasts roamed everywhere. Any one of them was as big as a tiger.
Kasso soon caught a giant stag.
He prepared it and roasted it beside a campfire.
Ausbie sat beside Kasso. "Brother Kasso, where have you been these past few months? When I woke up, you weren't there!"
Kasso smiled and told her what had happened during the past few months.
When Kasso told her about Young Nail, Ausbie exclaimed that he was a little brat.
Then, when he got to Shenron's appearance, Ausbie's eyes widened with curiosity.
Soon, Kasso had told her everything that had happened, except for the mishap when he made his third wish to Shenron.
"Brother Kasso, next time, take me with you to unlock my potential, okay? I want to become stronger so I can protect you!"
"All right. I'll do whatever you say, Little Biel!"
"Hehe, Brother Kasso is the best."
Ausbie clung to Kasso's arm, her eyes fixed on the meat roasting over the fire.
