Two small figures stirred up rolling waves, the wind whipping Korin's whiskers against his cheeks so fiercely that he couldn't even open his eyes.
"What are these two trying to do!"
They weren't training in the Heavenly Realm, so why had they suddenly shown up here? Korin truly couldn't fathom it.
As the two white auras drew closer, Kasso and Ausbie suddenly dispersed their energy just before reaching Korin Tower.
The sky returned to calm.
?
Seeing this, Korin was as shocked as if a thunderbolt had struck his head.
The auras of Kasso and the girl had vanished in an instant!
Had they really mastered ki?
Korin rubbed his eyes and looked again, carefully, seemingly forgetting that ki was invisible to the naked eye.
"Hello!" Kasso landed on Korin Tower and offered a greeting.
Seeing the look of sheer terror on Korin's face, he touched his own cheeks, wondering why the cat was staring at him like that when there was nothing on his face.
It was no wonder Korin was stunned; in the anime, Goku had only mastered the use of "ki" after defeating King Piccolo and training in the Heavenly Realm for three years.
Of course, Korin only knew that Goku had been undergoing "ki" training; he had no idea if there had been any other training involved afterward.
Now, witnessing two little brats master "ki" and achieve such effortless control in less than a month was truly terrifying.
Korin pointed a small paw at Kasso, his claw trembling slightly: "You... you've learned how to use ki?"
"Yeah, is there a problem?" Kasso asked, puzzled.
What was wrong with Korin? He hadn't harmed the Earth, so why was he making that face?
Ausbie stared at the fat cat with wide eyes, thinking it was very strange.
"Brother Kasso, is it stupid?" Ausbie whispered.
She thought she was speaking very quietly.
Little did she know!
Korin: "..."
Kasso chuckled to himself; the little girl was still as cute as ever.
However, Kasso also realized the reason for Korin's expression. When he landed on Korin Tower, he had retracted his "ki" in one fluid motion, which was likely why Korin was so surprised.
In the entire anime, no one had ever mastered "ki" this quickly. When Kasso was still on Yardrat learning Instant Transmission, he had felt his aptitude was exceptionally high, and his speed in learning to use "ki" on Earth had been just as fast.
He wondered to himself if it was because his two souls had merged.
"Brother Kasso, what are you thinking about!" Ausbie asked, finding it strange that Kasso was standing perfectly still.
"Nothing!" Kasso smiled at Little Biel.
In truth, this girl's talent was quite strong; the time she spent learning Instant Transmission was about the same as Goku's, and under his guidance, she had also quickly learned how to use "ki."
"Do you two have business here?" Korin finally regained his composure.
He looked at Kasso and Ausbie with a strange expression, as if he were looking at two monsters.
"I heard you have a kind of bean here that can keep someone from feeling hungry for ten days after eating just one," Kasso said.
"You mean Senzu Bean?"
"Yeah!"
"I have them, sure, but why do you want them? These are meant for martial artists who climb Korin Tower; they're useless to you two." Korin scratched his head.
"Useless?"
Kasso smiled inwardly. These medical miracles were precious, and in the later stages, Goku and the others would wish they could split a single Senzu Bean in half to make it last.
And yet, he called them useless!
Kasso's lips curled upward. If that was the case, things would be easy!
"Could you give me some Senzu Bean, or I could trade you something else for them."
"Trade what?"
Korin didn't yet realize the importance of Senzu Bean, but they were something he had spent hundreds of years growing, and he wasn't willing to just give them away for free. However, trading these "useless" things for something else was acceptable.
Hearing Korin's response, Kasso smiled slightly; it seemed there was a chance.
He had started by asking Korin to give them away for free, then followed up with a trade offer, giving Korin a choice. He knew that no matter how useless the cat thought they were, he wouldn't just hand them over for nothing.
Sure enough, Korin's response didn't disappoint him.
"How about I trade you some fish?"
"Fish?"
Korin paused, then his eyes lit up: "Okay, okay!"
But after saying that, he felt he had been a bit too excited, so Korin pretended to be calm and said: "Well... how about 20 fish for one Senzu Bean."
Seeing that Kasso had no reaction.
Could it be that his request was too excessive?
Korin thought about it for a moment and felt that his request was indeed a bit too much.
He coughed twice: "If you think the requirement is too high, ten fish for one Senzu Bean will do. You have to know that the effect of a Senzu Bean is incredible; eating just one can keep you from feeling hungry for ten days."
"No need, let's stick to 20 fish for one Senzu Bean!"
Kasso remained expressionless, but inside, he was already soaring with joy.
Never mind 20 fish for one Senzu Bean; even if it were 20,000 fish for one, he would still be willing!
"Little Biel, wait for me here. I'll be right back."
With that, Kasso suddenly vanished from where he stood.
Not long after, he reappeared in the same spot.
During this time, Kasso had made a trip to the city and "borrowed" dozens of capsules from a large Hoi-Poi Capsule store.
He then headed to the Pacific Ocean, dove into the depths, and went on a frantic fishing spree, only stopping once dozens of Hoi-Poi Capsules were filled with fish.
Atop Korin Tower.
Ausbie stared with wide eyes at the suddenly reappearing Kasso.
She scratched her head; it hadn't even been ten minutes, was Brother Kasso really that fast?
"Take a look at the fish here."
Kasso pressed the button on a capsule, and a large crate appeared out of thin air on the ground.
He pointed at the crate and said: "I have dozens more crates just like this one."
Kasso pulled on the crate, the door swung open, and a full box of fish slid out instantly.
"Fish... it's all fish!"
Seeing so many fish, Korin's breath hitched; he had never seen so many fish in his life.
The last time he had eaten fish was a hundred years ago; he had almost forgotten what they tasted like.
With this many fish, he should be able to eat for a long time.
Thinking of this, Korin's heart began to race: "Take all those Senzu Beans!"
Korin estimated that this single crate held no less than fifty thousand fish, and since Kasso had dozens more of these crates in his possession, he was so excited he could jump.
What a good man!
Kasso: "..."
So he was actually a good man; that was something he hadn't expected.
Seeing Korin lying on top of the pile of fish, Kasso smiled and walked over to the spot the cat had just pointed out.
There were three wooden jars sitting on the ground, each covered by a wooden lid!
Opening the lids and seeing them filled with Senzu Beans, Kasso's breath hitched. His reaction was much like Korin's just moments ago—he was incredibly excited.
"So many! So many!"
Kasso was nearly losing his mind. All three wooden jars were filled with Senzu Beans; there must be tens of thousands of them. He still had one last capsule he had "borrowed" from the Hoi-Poi Capsule store.
Just as he was about to pack them all away, Kasso paused.
Whatever he was thinking, Kasso only emptied two-thirds of the final jar.
The remaining Senzu Beans should still amount to a few thousand!
