Half a year passed.
In a dense forest on Mumu Planet, birds flew through the sky, while animals gathered to drink by the lake. It was peaceful and serene.
One day,
two shooting stars with long tails streaked across the sky. Against this backdrop, they made a beautiful picture.
Wait, those two shining shooting stars were heading straight for the forest.
Rumble—
The two pods slammed into the ground, their tremendous impact creating two huge craters. A powerful shock wave spread in every direction, kicking up dust and exposing rocks and sand wherever it went.
A hatch opened on each pod, and two little figures crawled out: Kasso and Ausbie.
The moment Kasso opened the hatch, he saw the ragged slope, its earth and rocks exposed. He leaped out.
A figure flashed through the air, and Kasso appeared at the top of the slope.
"Big brother Kasso."
Ausbie jumped out of the crater too and came over to him. She wrapped her arms around him like a tree, clinging to his body.
Clearly, the unfamiliar surroundings made Ausbie a little scared. She only felt safe in the arms of her Kasso.
"Don't be afraid. We're on Mumu Planet!"
Kasso held Ausbie's bottom with his left hand and stroked her long hair with his right. He loved holding Little Biel, his little porcelain doll. Especially now that she'd put on a little weight—her whole body was so soft and comfortable to hold.
"We've finally left Planet Vegeta."
Some of the pressure in Kasso's heart eased. At last, he no longer had to worry that the planet they were on might be destroyed by Frieza at any moment.
In the anime, there seemed to be two reasons Planet Vegeta was destroyed. One was that the Frost Demon Race feared the Saiyans might produce the legendary Super Saiyan. But when all was said and done, the main reason was the God of Destruction, Beerus.
For some reason, Beerus had ordered Frieza to wipe out the entire Saiyan race.
A powerhouse at the level of a God of Destruction was still far beyond Kasso's reach!
Now that they'd escaped the hidden danger of Planet Vegeta, they could take their time growing stronger.
They wandered through the forest.
"Big brother Kasso, this planet is so beautiful." Ausbie looked around.
Ausbie bounced along on her tiptoes. She was already completely captivated by the beautiful surroundings, and had forgotten all about being scared and nervous.
Standing behind Ausbie and watching her walk with that carefree swagger, Kasso didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Hadn't she been so scared when they'd just gotten out of the pods?
"But this planet really is beautiful."
Kasso also started exploring in earnest.
Half of Mumu Planet was covered in forest, and 20 percent was ocean. It was a planet with a wonderful environment.
The strongest fighters here were the still-untamed beasts. Kasso and the others only needed to eliminate all the powerful beasts to complete their mission. It was an extremely simple task.
Bardock had considered the possibility that something might go wrong, and there was also a moon near the planet. If all else failed, one of them could transform into a Great Ape, multiplying their battle power tenfold. The beasts with a battle power of 800 would be little more than playthings to them.
Bardock simply hadn't told the two of them about this.
Kasso led Ausbie by her chubby little hand to a hillside. A blue light flickered at his fingertip, and a ki blast the size of a ping-pong ball shot out.

The blast carved a cave three meters wide into the hillside.
After tidying the place up a little, they'd use it as their home.
Time slipped by.
One day.
A large lake lay before the hillside. Golden ripples shimmered across its surface, and fish occasionally leaped out of the water. Birds swooped down from the sky, seizing the opportunity to snatch them up...
Suddenly, ripples spread across the lake, quickly turning into choppy waves. A small, moving hill appeared by the lakeshore, about ten meters tall and six meters wide.
The ground shook every time the little hill moved. As it slowly drew closer, a tiny figure appeared beneath it. That little figure was Kasso!
At the finish line, Kasso tossed the little hill off to one side.
Rumble!
The entire ground trembled.
Completely exhausted and drenched in sweat, Kasso sat on the ground, panting heavily.
After his brutal training, he'd used up every last bit of strength in his body.
His hard work wasn't without results. He could feel some mysterious power stirring deep inside him, like a dried-up spring suddenly gushing with water once more.
"Earth's training methods really are something!"
Kasso lay on the ground to rest.
This kind of training was still useful for Kasso at his current level, but it wouldn't do much once he broke through 1,000 battle power. If he wanted to make a bigger improvement, he'd be better off using a Gravity Chamber.
Suddenly, another violent tremor came from behind him.
Kasso turned around and saw Ausbie carrying a small hill seven meters tall and five meters wide.
After dropping it, Ausbie gave Kasso a resentful look. "Big brother Kasso, you didn't even wait for me!"
"But I'm right here waiting for you!" Kasso replied with a smile.
They'd been on Mumu Planet for over a month now. Kasso had followed the methods Master Roshi used to train Kid Goku: swimming in the lake, digging fields by hand, being chased by wild beasts, carrying little hills, and so on.
Then he'd made Ausbie do the same things. Both Kasso and Ausbie were Elite Warriors, so there was no need to say anything about their potential.
During this time, Kasso had trained hard, raising his battle power from 350 when he'd first arrived on Mumu Planet to 500. Ausbie had also gone from a little over 100 to 300, nearly tripling her strength.
Ausbie's talent really was amazing. Compared to her, Kasso's improvement had been modest.
The only reason Kasso had reached such a high battle power was that time Nappa had beaten him to the brink of death!
"Little Biel, we've been here for over a month. Do you miss home?" Kasso wrapped his arms around Ausbie and held her close.
Ausbie was drenched in sweat too, but she didn't smell at all. Instead, she had a fresh, sweet scent, like the fragrance of grass in the morning!
"Yeah, I miss Aunt Gine and Uncle Bardock a little."
Ausbie didn't mind Kasso's sweat. The two of them pressed close together.
"Big brother Kasso, once we finish the mission, can we go straight back to Planet Vegeta? With our battle power now, we can definitely get revenge on Nappa." Ausbie's eyes flashed with anger.
"Go back? No, we can't go back yet." Kasso shook his head, but didn't tell her the truth about Nappa's death.
"Why?" Ausbie looked puzzled.
"You know Frieza, right?"
"Yeah, I know. We Saiyans have served him for many years."
"He's the emperor of the universe. He's incredibly powerful and ruthless. In a year and a half, he'll wipe out our entire Saiyan race."
Kasso knew that the only way to save the Saiyans was to become a Super Saiyan. Trying to face Frieza one-on-one in his normal state was utterly unrealistic.
"Ah, how could that happen? We've always been so loyal to him!" Ausbie's eyes widened. She didn't seem to believe it.
"I have a premonition, and it's getting stronger. You have to believe me." Kasso held her by the shoulders, pressed his forehead to hers, and spoke solemnly.
"Mm-hmm. I believe you, big brother Kasso."
Ausbie was still a little confused, but she trusted her Kasso more.
Now that she understood how serious the situation was, Ausbie grew troubled in both heart and mind. Her usual smile gradually faded.
The two embraced. Suddenly, a rumbling sound came from Ausbie's little belly.
Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle!
Ausbie bashfully burrowed closer against Kasso.
"Is my little princess hungry? Come on, let's take a bath first, then go hunting." Kasso laughed.
Kasso patted Little Biel on the head. Come to think of it, after such intense training, he was hungry too.
The two of them bathed in the lake.
Roar...
A beast roared in the distance.
Kasso and Ausbie exchanged a glance. There was their food!
They powered up, white light surrounding their bodies. With a push off the ground and a mighty leap, two streaks of light shot through the sky like bullets. In no time, only two tiny white dots remained where they'd been.
Roar! Roar!
Two giant tigers, identical in appearance to saber-toothed tigers, tensed their bodies and growled at each other from time to time, locked in a standoff.
"Big brother Kasso, one each. You take the big one, and I'll take the little one." As soon as she finished speaking, Ausbie darted toward the smaller saber-toothed tiger.
Kasso folded his arms and hovered in the air. He could only smile helplessly at Little Biel's impulsiveness.
The two saber-toothed tigers weren't very different in size. Each was about as big as an elephant. They seemed to realize these two were here for trouble, and immediately abandoned their standoff to roar at them.
"Little tiger, take this!"
Ausbie stopped in midair and brought her hands together. A blue light appeared between her palms, shining like a blue gem in the sunlight. In an instant, the little blue dot rapidly expanded into a blast about the size of an adult's fist.
She thrust her hands forward, and the blue blast streaked across the sky like lightning, racing toward the smaller saber-toothed tiger.
But the tiger leaped to one side and quickly dodged the blast.
Bang! The blast exploded, filling the air with dust and scattering the surrounding trees.
"Darn it, I missed!"
Ausbie's delicate figure flashed as she charged again.
Taking advantage of the saber-toothed tiger's confusion in the aftermath of the explosion, she reached its side, twisted at the waist, and channeled all her strength into her leg before kicking hard.
The saber-toothed tiger went flying, crushing one tree after another beneath its enormous body.
Roar! Roar!
The saber-toothed tiger got back to its feet, shook its head, and roared up at the sky.
It opened its enormous jaws, every tooth clearly visible, their sharp tips gleaming as though they were edged with cold light.
It dug all four feet into the ground and lunged forward. Its claws kicked up the dirt, leaving four large holes in the ground.
Seeing its fierce charge, Ausbie leaped into the air. "Hee-hee, you can't hit me!"
Roar!
The little saber-toothed tiger couldn't reach the human-shaped creature above it, and could only rage helplessly.
"Little Biel, quit fooling around and finish it quickly. We're getting ready to head back!" Kasso took out the other saber-toothed tiger with a single fingertip blast.
"Okay, give me a moment."
This time, Ausbie gathered all her strength. An energy ball the size of a basketball appeared in her hands.
The little saber-toothed tiger realized something was terribly wrong. If it didn't run, it was going to die!
Run!
It turned and leaped, just about to dive into the dense forest.
Boom!
The little saber-toothed tiger was struck by an energy blast, which exploded with a tremendous roar.
When the smoke cleared, the saber-toothed tiger was nowhere to be seen.
It had been blown to ashes!
Kasso flew down from the sky and covered his face. "Well, I guess we won't be eating this little one."
He hadn't expected this girl to be so violent!
Ausbie stuck out her tongue, looking a little embarrassed too.
"Come on, I'm starving."
Kasso grabbed the tiger lying on the ground with his bare hands, then flew back toward their cave with Ausbie.
