Obtaining the Ancient Saiyan Bloodline

Thud, thud, thud!

The sounds of combat erupted!

With a sharp cry, Gaino was sent flying by a direct hit from an energy blast.

Damn King Vegeta, didn't he say this mission would be a walk in the park? How are the natives here so powerful?

Gaino dodged the native's onslaught while desperately searching for a way out.

In truth, Gaino felt incredibly frustrated. Everyone else who transmigrated received some sort of cheat or system, but he had arrived with absolutely nothing. Even worse, his combat power had been zero at birth, a fact that had shocked King Vegeta himself.

Normally, Saiyans were born with at least some level of combat power, but Gaino hadn't possessed a single shred of it. Even the lowest-ranking warriors had some measurable strength.

King Vegeta had frowned while looking at Gaino in the incubation tank, then turned to the guard and said, "Discard this one; he doesn't even qualify as a low-class warrior!"

On Planet Vegeta, such things were commonplace. Any low-class warrior without parents was ruthlessly cast aside. In the eyes of many Saiyans, family ties were nothing more than an ethereal, meaningless concept.

Just as the guard was about to dispose of little Gaino, a man entered the room and spoke up: "My King, please allow me to take little Gaino away. I am willing to raise him."

King Vegeta looked at the man and said:

"Bum, you had better think this through. You are an elite-class warrior; why would you want to raise someone who doesn't even qualify as a low-class warrior?"

Bum replied, "My King, if it weren't for Gaino's parents, I might not have returned. It was his parents who gave us another chance at life. I cannot stand by and watch little Gaino be thrown away."

Gaino's parents had gone on a mission with Bum and others, but of the five who left, only three returned. In a moment of crisis, Gaino's parents had sacrificed themselves through self-detonation to ensure the survival of Bum and his comrades.

Seeing the expression on Bum's face, King Vegeta knew his mind was made up.

King Vegeta said to Bum, "Very well. Since your heart is set on it, take Gaino with you."

Bum was overjoyed at the King's consent and replied, "Many thanks, my King."

King Vegeta waved his hand, and Bum walked over to Gaino's incubation tank, hoisted it onto his shoulder, and strode out of the room.

When Bum arrived at his home, his wife, Tasha, was already waiting at the door.

Tasha said, "You brought Gaino back. That is wonderful."

Bum replied, "The King agreed to my request."

Bum and Tasha entered the house, and Bum placed the incubation tank next to another, smaller one where their daughter, Laiya, was kept.

Five years passed in the blink of an eye. In the training room, a young boy was relentlessly throwing punches and kicks, repeating the same motions over and over. This was little Gaino.

Sweat soaked Gaino's body. He stopped his movements, slowly closed his eyes, and tried to sense the state of his internal energy.

Then, Gaino slammed a fist into the ground, hung his head, and shouted, "Why? Why can I still not feel the ki inside me? Why? Why does everyone else who transmigrates get a cheat, while I have nothing?"

It had been five full years. Five years of constant training. His physique had grown stronger, yet he still couldn't perceive the existence of ki.

As Gaino grumbled, Laiya entered. Seeing his state, she knew her brother Gaino still hadn't sensed his ki.

Laiya walked up to Gaino and said, "Brother Gaino, I believe you will be able to sense your ki eventually."

Gaino lifted his head, saw Laiya, and put on his signature smile. "It's fine, Laiya, I'm used to it. Oh, right, what did you need me for?"

Laiya said, "Father wants you to come home!"

"Alright, I understand." Gaino immediately stood up, took Laiya's hand, and headed toward their home.

Back at the house, Gaino saw the expressions on Bum and Tasha's faces and knew something was about to happen.

"Dad, Mom, you wanted to see me?" Gaino asked.

Bum saw Gaino had returned and said to Tasha, "Tasha, you tell him."

Gaino said, "Dad, Mom, just tell me what's going on."

Bum said, "The King is looking for you."

"King Vegeta is looking for me? What for?"

Bum replied, "Gaino, you are five years old now. We Saiyans are sent out on missions once we reach five, so the King is likely summoning you to assign you a task."

"I see," Gaino said. He turned to Tasha and Bum and added, "It's fine, Dad, Mom. I'll go see the King right now."

Gaino traveled by spaceship to the planet, but the natives there were not the weaklings he had expected. On the contrary, to Gaino, their strength was immense.

Rumbling sounds echoed continuously. Gaino kept dodging the energy blasts.

"You guy, aren't you being a bit too ruthless?" Gaino shouted while dodging. "I'm here on a mission, but you started attacking before I even made a move!"

The native retorted, "You damned Saiyan, I will destroy you!"

In the universe, almost everyone knew the Saiyans were brutal; they were known as a warrior race, employed by the galactic tyrant Frieza.

In reality, Frieza kept the Saiyans under his thumb. To put it bluntly, they were nothing more than Frieza's thugs, driven and used at his whim.

Gaino was blasted away by another energy ball. He said angrily, "I can't sense my ki. If I could, would a guy like you still be acting so arrogant?"

The native fired several more energy blasts in quick succession. Under the relentless bombardment, Gaino began to cough up blood.

How unlucky. Looks like I'm done for this time. A massive energy blast struck Gaino, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood.

It seems I can't escape death today.

As a gargantuan energy blast roared toward him, Gaino closed his eyes.

Just then, a voice rang out: "Host's life in danger detected. System activating automatically."

With a ding, the system began scanning the host's body, confirming that the host's physical condition met the requirements.

"Reward: Ancient Saiyan Bloodline." Gaino felt an extraordinarily powerful force surging into his body.

BOOM! Dust billowed as a ki blast gouged a deep crater into the ground. The native laughed wildly, "Hahahaha! Finally, I've wiped out this wretched Saiyan!"

As the smoke cleared, a figure slowly drifted upward. It was Gaino; he could now sense the existence of ki. He felt as though he could shatter this entire planet with a single punch.

Gaino looked toward the native. "I'll use you to test the power of the Ancient Saiyan bloodline." Gaino extended his palm, and an energy sphere manifested instantly in his hand.

The energy sphere shot out at blinding speed, obliterating the native and reducing him to nothing but the dust of this planet.
