When Gaino said he was a Saiyan, Dr. Lychee's expression immediately grew uneasy. He was always asking about the outside world, so he knew all too well how cruel and warlike the Saiyans were.
People across the universe called the Saiyans a warrior race.
"So you're a Saiyan. I really miscalculated. Weren't you wiped out by Frieza? How are there still so many of you?"
"Because we're powerful, of course."
"Hahaha! Good. I like powerful Saiyans. That way, I can create the most perfect warrior."
After Gaino woke up, all the Saiyans who had fallen to the ground gradually got back up. They'd wanted to play around a little longer!
Seeing Dr. Lychee's expression, Gaino thought he'd gone mad. "Haven't you figured out the situation? You're the one surrounded by us. You're not the one who has us surrounded."
Dr. Lychee said, "If the Saiyans are known as a warrior race, then show me how powerful you really are."
As he spoke, Dr. Lychee took a remote control from his pocket. "I'd planned to perfect my work after turning you into living specimens, but I guess there's no need for that now."
Dr. Lychee pressed a button. Gaino felt an enormous energy surge on Planet Tuffle. It felt just like Slug's energy.
A space alien wearing a steel helmet quickly appeared beside Dr. Lychee.
Dr. Lychee stroked the space wanderer and said, "My darling, you don't have to hold back anymore. You can let loose and kill to your heart's content. See that group of Saiyans? They're your targets."
Gaino said, "So that's why you were so confident. You had a backup plan."
Dr. Lychee replied, "This is my creation, but the technology isn't quite perfected yet. I still can't control him completely, but he's more than enough to deal with you Saiyans."
"Riniu, kill them!" Dr. Lychee pressed a button on the remote, and the fellow he called Riniu charged at Gaino and the others.
Gaino was about to attack when Bardock stopped him. "I was in the wrong last time. Let me have this chance. I'll defeat him."
Seeing the fierce fighting spirit in Bardock's eyes, Gaino said, "All right, then. I'll leave him to you."
Gaino stepped aside, and Bardock powered up and charged straight at Riniu.
The instant they collided, ripples burst out around them, and their energy surged outward in wave after wave.
The immense energy blast sent Dr. Lychee flying. Gaino reacted quickly and grabbed him.
Dr. Lychee thanked him, but when he turned and saw it was Gaino, his face instantly turned ashen.
Gaino held Dr. Lychee down with one hand and said, "Watch closely. We Saiyans only get stronger the longer we fight. To us, your creation is nothing but a slightly stronger ant."
Bardock rained punches and kicks down on Riniu, keeping him completely off balance. Then Bardock kicked him straight into the forest.
Riniu flew backward, crashing through numerous towering trees before finally coming to a stop.
"Impossible! How can this be? How can he be so strong? I'm the strongest warrior! I'm Dr. Lychee's greatest creation! I can't lose!"
Riniu suddenly powered up, his energy even stronger than before. Seeing this, Bardock refused to back down and unleashed his full power to meet him.
Riniu fired a Ki Blast at Bardock. Bardock swatted it away, then shot toward Riniu at top speed. "That's not how you use a Ki Blast. You're supposed to use it like this!"
Bardock's body flickered as he sped to Riniu, then unleashed a powerful shock wave right in front of him. The blast shattered Riniu's helmet and sent his body flying into space.
"Then I'll use this move to send you off!"
Bardock brought his hands together, quickly gathering a huge amount of energy before firing an enormous shock wave at Riniu.
"Behold my gigantic energy cannon! Here it comes!" The energy wave instantly reached Riniu. He screamed from within the shock wave, then fell completely silent. The blast obliterated him and continued shooting into space.
After defeating Dr. Lychee's creation, Bardock went over to Gaino. "I took care of him. I didn't disgrace the Saiyans, did I?"
Gaino said, "Good. Very Saiyan of you. Go rest and recover your strength. I'm going to have a little chat with Dr. Lychee."
Dr. Lychee was completely numb by now. He couldn't believe his proudest creation had been so utterly useless.
"Dr. Lychee, let's have a proper chat."
Gaino's voice brought Dr. Lychee back to reality.
"You wanted to use us Saiyans for live experiments, so I assume there are plenty of specimens in your lab, right? Come on, take us there and show us."
Dr. Lychee stammered, "Y-you'd better not look. The things in my lab haven't been fully assembled yet!"
"Then we definitely have to see them. Oh, Iso, notify all the Tuffles on Planet Tuffle. Let them see what their Dr. Lychee has created."
"Ah, well..." Iso had wanted to say they should let it go, but when he saw Gaino's look, the words wouldn't come.
"All right. I'll go right away."
Gaino grabbed Dr. Lychee with one hand and headed toward the laboratory.
All the Saiyans followed behind Gaino. They were curious about what kind of things this scientist had come up with.
When they reached the entrance to Dr. Lychee's laboratory, Gaino blew the door open with a Ki Blast. The first people they saw were Laiya and Dr. Laika, standing at the entrance.
Many Tuffles greeted Dr. Laika when they saw him. But when they noticed how haggard he looked, anger showed in their eyes.
Laiya supported Dr. Laika as she brought him over to Gaino. "Dr. Laika is starving. And on top of that, Lychee's disgusting experiments every day have taken a toll on his mental health."
"Right. Iso, take Dr. Laika to rest."
Iso hurried over to help Dr. Laika. But what he saw made him furious: his companions had been cut into several pieces, and one of them was Lychee's own son. Their bodies were hooked up to oxygen machines.
Iso shouted, "Lychee, you monster! You even did this to your own son. Are you even human?"
Iso rushed over and began punching and kicking Lychee.
Lychee covered his head with his arms and said to Iso, "I was willing to sacrifice even my own son for science. But what about you? None of you were willing to let your own family contribute to science."
Iso beat Lychee furiously. "Science, huh? Contribution, huh? I'll show you, you monster. You can keep dreaming about conducting live experiments!"
"Ah, Lychee is beyond saving."
Gaino blew up all the live experiment subjects with a Ki Blast, then killed Dr. Lychee with a single punch.
He turned to everyone and said, "I have nothing against scientific experiments, but you must never experiment on living people. And from this moment on, the Tuffles will serve only us. Planet Tuffle will be renamed Planet Saiyan."
