Background / History

Yu Luomian is Yu Yuanzhen's younger brother. Though he awakened the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul with level-seven Innate Soul Power, he spent his youth overshadowed by Yu Yuanzhen, whose Innate Full Soul Power and rapid cultivation earned the family’s attention and their father’s investment. Yu Luomian was repeatedly compared unfavorably to his brother, despite cultivating desperately to catch up. 28

Unable to surpass Yu Yuanzhen, Yu Luomian eventually abandoned his pursuit of paternal approval and lived indulgently for a period. He later regained his resolve, but his resentment toward his elder brother remained a central motive in his political maneuvering. 28

He has an illegitimate daughter, Liu Erlong, born from a relationship outside the family. Although he secretly monitored her growth and supplied cultivation resources, he did not publicly recognize her before bringing her and her mother into the clan. 28 29

Personality

Yu Luomian is politically shrewd, patient, and openly opportunistic. He presents himself to Yu Hong as a concerned elder advocating fairness, but privately regards the boy as a means to weaken Yu Yuanzhen and advance his own claim to the clan head position. 4 28

He is also an astute judge of potential. Yu Luomian recognizes Yu Hong's discipline, physical ability, and unprecedented martial soul development early, repeatedly investing resources and logistical support in him. 6 9 24 30 32

His support is conditional rather than altruistic: he intends to secure Yu Hong’s loyalty through a marriage alliance with Liu Erlong, treating both their relationship and Liu Erlong’s return to the family as parts of his larger political strategy. 28 32 33

Six-Year Cultivation Pact

When Yu Yuanzhen considers directing additional clan resources toward Yu Xiaogang, Yu Luomian proposes that Yu Xiaogang and Yu Hong receive equal resources for six years, followed by a match whose winner receives support for another six years. The proposal prevents Yu Yuanzhen from favoring his son openly while creating an opportunity for Yu Hong to challenge him. 3 4

Yu Luomian personally brings Yu Hong medicinal herbs, money, and a storage Soul Tool, explains the pact, and warns him that Yu Yuanzhen may still favor Yu Xiaogang in secret. Yu Hong recognizes that Yu Luomian intends to use him against the patriarch, but accepts the support. 4

Patronage of Yu Hong

After Yu Hong reaches level 10, Yu Luomian arranges a soul-hunting expedition and permits him to pursue a dragon-type soul beast despite doubts about the Jade Egg martial soul. 6

Yu Luomian is astonished by Yu Hong’s successful absorption of a 620-year Sun-Day Dragon Lizard soul ring and level-11 breakthrough. He treats the feat as evidence that his investment against Yu Yuanzhen will succeed. 9

He later gives Yu Hong a personal token before the latter trains in Greenwood Forest, allowing him to seek help from nearby clan members if necessary. 18

Following Yu Hong’s martial soul evolution, Yu Luomian supports his plan to obtain a light-attribute sub-dragon ring, provides the family’s soul-beast distribution map, and assigns Yu Tieshan’s squad to accompany him. 30

Yu Luomian reacts with elation when Yu Hong absorbs the mutated 2,000-year Three-Headed Holy Light Sub-Dragon ring at level 20, regarding the achievement as confirmation of Yu Hong’s extraordinary future. 32

Marriage-Alliance Scheme

After Yu Hong reveals the Blue-Eyes White Dragon martial soul and defeats Yu Xiaogang in the six-year pact, Yu Luomian decides that simple patronage is insufficient to secure Yu Hong. He plans to bind Yu Hong to his faction by arranging a future marriage with Liu Erlong. 28

He orders trusted subordinates to retrieve Liu Erlong and her mother with courtesy, then introduces Liu Erlong to Yu Hong and encourages them to spend time together. 29 34
