In the girl's memories, she saw Bayonetta talking to a noisy white box. It was not until Salomon entered the dining room that he realized the "white box" was actually a telephone. Seeing Salomon set the girl down in a chair, Bayonetta waved the receiver at him with a mischievous smile. Their month-long vacation was supposed to have been a peaceful, tranquil time at the estate. The Praetorian Guard training camp, Latveria, Laura Croft's search for the Feathered Serpent God's place of resurrection—each matter required serious attention, but he had already planted the seeds and only needed to wait for the harvest according to plan. Salomon did not know whether his own understanding was flawed or everyone else's, but either way, he had to take the call. "It's Minerva. She invited us to an art salon." Bayonetta held the receiver out to the Arcanist. "I knew you couldn't refuse her, so I accepted for you."
He sighed and took the receiver.
The Witch leaned leisurely against the dining room's marble wall, arms folded, openly "eavesdropping" on the conversation with complete composure. Seeing this, the Arcanist pressed the speakerphone button and shot the Witch a look. Bayonetta merely lifted her chin and pretended not to care about the conversation, though Salomon had caught her paying attention more than once. After hearing Athena's request, Salomon said helplessly, "I hope next time it'll be a symposium at the European Organization for Nuclear Research. How could you think I'd be more interested in a fashion show than those old fellows in the Meihan Region? They discovered the Higgs Boson!"
