"I don't mind." Wanda Maximoff shrugged. "It's a party—the more, the merrier."
"I'd like to hear about your adventures after Yamatai too." Bayonetta raised her glass toward the guests who had just joined the party. However, one of the two guests was not particularly cooperative. She had not even noticed the Witch raising her glass, while the other guest seemed somewhat nervous. Laura Croft had seen Witches before. After surviving the adventure on Yamatai, she had become certain that mysterious forces existed in this world, setting out on adventures to uncover the truth hidden behind history—after a brief bout of confusion, Dinah handed the two guests their drinks. The somewhat unhinged woman received a mug of hot cocoa topped with toasted marshmallows, while Laura Croft received a glass of The Macallan whisky without ice.
But Laura Croft felt that she had smelled enough burnt things already.
Although The Macallan was not particularly peaty, she still wanted nothing to do with it. If possible, she wanted a sweet spiced mulled wine to bring some life back to her fingers and lips, numb from the cold. Dinah granted her wish and immediately replaced it with the manor's owner's bedtime drink. The head maid gently carried the drowsy Milia away from the sofa. The child had eaten far too much at the party. She had to wake Milia up to brush her teeth and then make her obediently go to bed, so she also scooped up the Cheshire Cat from the sofa, its belly equally bloated as it lay sprawled on its back.
Without the cat in her arms, Milia would never sleep properly.
"I heard you went to Siberia and the Amazon Rainforest afterward. If he thought it was worth investing millions of dollars in, then it must be a good story."
