If the Sacred Guard were not so short-handed at present, Constantine, as one of the only two people who had mastered every Gene Alchemy procedure and piece of equipment, would definitely have been eager to station the Sacred Guard in the Dimensional Rift Watchtower. The Emperor also knew that the Sacred Guard wanted to use the Dimensional Rift to scout for intelligence and learn about the alien races of the Milky Way before the grand plan was put into action.
As a major branch of the World Tree system, the Dimensional Rift was home to many alien psionic sorcerers from different regions and civilizations across the Milky Way, exchanging psionic materials and knowledge. These alien sorcerers were relatively peaceful, and most were neither so-called psionic races nor aliens entirely dependent on the Outer Dimensions for survival. They could be used in the Emperor's future plans and belonged to the alien races that could become vassals of the Human Race. However, these alien races were all small in scale. Most planetary governments lacked the ability to control Psionics, or simply allowed Psionics to exist without regulating them at all. Some could not even explore their own planetary orbit.
Far more common in the Milky Way were brutal alien interstellar empires with powerful technology and vast populations. Those alien empires would become obstacles to human civilization, and the Emperor would inevitably exterminate them. That was the knowledge Constantine wished to obtain. Granted, the Emperor had brought back a considerable amount of information from the Milky Way before, but the Milky Way was so vast that even the civilizations encountered by interstellar pirates wandering through it could not possibly know every race within it.
