Kamar-Taj: A Sense of Security
The coronation ceremony proceeded as scheduled. Phoenix, who had rarely appeared before outsiders, arrived at Kamar-Taj with her burning wings spread wide. Malphas, chief scientist of Mars Foundry, and Rodin, head of the City of Immortals Foundry, also came. In addition, there was a young man in a pink suit, a young man named Dave in plain robes carrying a sword scabbard, and a group of Psionics in similar starlit robes whom the Kamar-Taj Arcanists had never seen before. Those in the know said they were an order bearing Merlin's legacy, settled on a planet called Planet Engar that appeared in no records of this world, where they had built a castle. Their duty was similar to that of the Arcanists Kamar-Taj sent to the pocket dimensions within the Dimensional Rift: eternal vigilance and protection.
The most significant part of the ceremony was Athena placing the Golden Laurel Crown upon the Emperor's head. When the Sorcerer Supreme's final creation finally found its destined user, even the Emperor could not help marveling at her wisdom. This was a Noble Phantasm built around the concept of defense, with Time-Space Interference as its core principle, and it could only be used by the Emperor himself—because the concept he carried was humanity itself. Only one who would bear the burden of humanity through the long years ahead and had been granted the relevant concept could activate this Noble Phantasm. The Sorcerer Supreme had uncovered the Emperor's origins from the very beginning, which was why she had created such a Noble Phantasm, something that could be called a divine artifact. Together with the Eye of Agamotto, it was bestowed upon the Emperor as a coronation gift.
