When Cereza appeared before Bayonetta, the Witch recalled some things. It was a gentle melody softly hummed under someone's breath. Bayonetta found it incredibly familiar, yet no matter how hard she thought, she could not remember anything more.
Still, she could not determine whether the images in her mind had truly happened or were merely Balder's magic, like the illusions she had seen before encountering Cereza. So the Witch had never told Salomon about them.
However, the Witch did tell Salomon about the white-haired woman in red she had encountered. More importantly, that woman possessed exactly the same abilities and fighting style as she did. Because of this, Bayonetta began to doubt the accuracy of some of the information Salomon had provided.
"You mean, a Witch?" Salomon asked. "Since the current Lumen Sage is the one from five hundred years ago—your father—then the appearance of a Witch who has lived for five hundred years is not so surprising. It can only be explained by missing records. After all, Kamar-Taj did not observe that battle from beginning to end. Perhaps even The Venerable One did not know where you were buried. Luca's father may have released you by accident, because if those Angels had known your location, they would have rushed over immediately to reclaim the 'Left Eye.'"
"But that so-called 'Left Eye'..." Salomon shook the Pocket Watch in his hand. It belonged to Cereza. "I do not think it has much to do with your Pocket Watch."
His curiosity prompted him to examine Cereza's Pocket Watch carefully, but it did not possess the power of the "Left Eye" as the Witch had claimed. It was an entirely ordinary Pocket Watch, save for the writing upon it and the ruby set in its center. At most, those were merely magical gemstones
