Far North Sovereign
Ice Empress has lived in the Far North for hundreds of thousands of years. She ranks second among its Three Great Heavenly Kings, below Snow Empress, whom she calls “Big Sister.” The two appear together when the Sky Curtain exposes the Far North as a human-forbidden region containing a million soul beasts 5 37 38.
The ranking's rewards initially free her from anxiety about her next Heavenly Tribulation. Snow Empress, however, recognizes that publicizing their strength and treasures may attract human hunters. She asks Ice Empress to visit Godwind City and seek Venti's help, invoking a promise he made during an earlier visit to the Far North 6.
Alliance with Godwind City
After observing Venti grant power to both humans and soul beasts, the sisters decide to approach him together. Ice Empress's individual ranking rewards reach her during their journey south, turning her initial suspicion into eager curiosity and a willingness to repay the benefit 37 38.
At Godwind City, she remains unimpressed by Venti's unassuming appearance. Although grateful for his gifts, she demands proof that he can protect the Far North. Venti delegates the test to Bi Ji, whose Vision-generated Wind Domain: Emerald Barrier repels Ice Empress's charge and marks her carapace. Ice Empress ends the spar, and the sisters accept an alliance founded on respect for Venti's power 39 40.
A later account shows Bi Ji defeating her by neutralizing Ultimate Ice and exhausting her soul power. Ice Empress protests that the victory came from Venti's gift rather than Bi Ji's original abilities, but Snow Empress points out that the being capable of bestowing such strength is more formidable still. The sisters decide to seek Venti's protection through outright submission; Venti subsequently relocates the northern glacier to Godwind City 46 47.
Service to Venti
Witnessing Venti destroy the Evil Emperor leaves Ice Empress afraid that he might remember her earlier challenge. Further revelations about Bi Ji's 920,000-year cultivation make her recognize that her defeat reflected a vast difference in power, not merely unfavorable attributes 52 55 58.
The later combat-power ranking identifies her as a member of the Wind God Temple's Far North Branch. She accompanies Shui Bing'er into the Worship Hall plaza, standing half a step behind her 98 99.
Ice Empress and Snow Empress later kneel before Venti and declare their readiness to fight for him. Both join the assault on the God Realm, assisting in the killing of its officials before the five great Law Enforcement Gods surrender 110 111.

Her pride does not prevent her from recognizing danger. After Bi Ji counters her probing attack, she refuses to continue despite insisting that she is not afraid. Venti's later demonstrations turn that bravado into cautious deference 40 52 58.
She is affectionate and mischievous with Snow Empress, teasing her about Venti and noticing her brief blush. Although reluctant to leave her sister, she accepts the responsibility of seeking help for the Far North.
