Hearing Shen Mo's question, Loki was briefly at a loss.
Because in the scenes he had just "seen," after being chosen by the traveling merchant, the next step would obviously be to be granted the qualification to obtain power—that is, those magical jars.
But Shen Mo had asked him what he wanted to do.
After thinking for a moment, Loki answered honestly:
"I want the jars."
Everyone except Shen Mo wore a confused expression, wondering if they had heard him wrong.
Loki said he wanted what?
Jars?
Did that word really mean exactly what it sounded like?
Some people looked toward Thor, wanting to know whether this was some unique Asgardian term, but Thor was just as confused and had no idea what Loki meant.
"It's not enough." Shen Mo shook his head. "You do possess qualities I value, but it's still not enough. I need more than what you have now. You need to understand what you want and what you intend to do. Those schemes and tricks have given you an active mind, but they've also blinded you to what you truly feel."
The current Loki indeed had not yet earned the qualification to obtain the jars.
He had ambition and desire.
But he still lacked a clear goal.
He wanted to become the king of Asgard, but only to prove himself to his father and gain his father's recognition, like a princess throwing a tantrum.
He knew about the threat posed by Thanos, but he had never thought about doing anything to deal with it.
Even at the very end, he had still believed he could rely on a trick to assassinate Thanos, and so he had lost his life as casually as if he had given it away.
In other words.
Loki still had to grow.
