Tang San shares Dorm Seven at Nuoding Academy with Xiao Wu. When Xiao Wu brings Xiao Yin into their room and calls for the three of them to stay together, Tang San outwardly remains calm but reacts with visible coldness and unease toward the newcomer. Xiao Yin's closeness with Xiao Wu soon makes Tang San increasingly vigilant and possessive. 3 4

During the Soul Hunting Forest trip, Tang San uses his Purple Demon Eye to survey the surroundings and confirm Xiao Yin's warning about approaching Nether Wolfs. Conflict over Xiao Wu later drives Xiao Yin to leave the group, leaving a lasting fracture in the trio's relationship. 5 8
