Background / History

Rebirth and the Uchiha Massacre

Fushiguro Megumi awakens in the body of a young Sasuke Uchiha during the Uchiha clan massacre. He retains his memories as a jujutsu sorcerer while inheriting Sasuke's memories of Konoha, the Uchiha, his parents, and Itachi. 1

Rather than responding to Fugaku and Mikoto's deaths with grief, Sasuke assesses the scene as evidence that they did not resist. He immediately identifies flaws in Itachi's claim that the massacre was meant to prove his strength and realizes that Itachi deliberately left him alive. 1

Itachi attempts to force Sasuke onto a path of vengeance through Tsukuyomi, repeatedly torturing him within the illusion. Sasuke endures the pain but rejects the premise behind Itachi's plan, concluding that his brother is impossible to reason with. 1
