Background / History

Naruto attended the Ninja Academy alongside Sasuke, Sakura, Shikamaru, Choji, and Ino. He was known for his noisy challenges toward Sasuke and his insistence that he would become Hokage. His early attempts to outperform Sasuke often ended in failure or punishment, including a shuriken contest that disrupted class. 4

After Sasuke moved into the apartment next door, Naruto initially treated him as an intruder on his “turf.” Their hostility softened when Naruto offered Sasuke one of his instant-noodle cups after learning Sasuke had no kitchenware. Sasuke’s unusual lack of fear toward him left a strong impression on Naruto. 5

Naruto became acquainted with Sasuke’s Black Dog, which stayed in his room overnight and secretly absorbed negative emotions from him.
