On top of Alabasta's high walls, the Flying Pirates' members began another day of patrol.
These walls that encircled Alabasta had been created by their captain using the Float-Float Fruit. They were as hard as steel and could even repair themselves automatically.
The walls stood roughly fifty meters tall and twenty meters thick. Gun emplacements had been set up at regular intervals, and combined with the unobstructed view from atop the walls, they formed a firepower network covering the entire sky above Alabasta.
"Hey, hey, Tall Guy, shift change!" a bearded pirate called out to his companion.
The tall pirate nodded, gave up his position, stretched lazily, and sighed. "I was on night watch all night. I'm dead tired. I'm gonna grab breakfast under the wall with the boys, then get some sleep."
The bearded pirate laughed. "Look at how out of it you are. You didn't slack off, did you? The captain won't allow anyone to pass through this wall."
"How could I?" The tall man raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Besides, no one would dare try climbing over this wall after what happened, right?"
"You mean that Birdman?" The bearded pirate nodded. "He seems to be a guard for the Alabasta royal family. A Zoan Devil Fruit User with a pretty rare ability to fly."
"Hahaha, too bad he was nowhere near as strong as our captain!" The tall man rolled his neck. "He seemed to be trying to force his way through, but our gun emplacements' firepower drove him back in the end."
"If the captain hadn't ordered us not to attack Alabastans unless they attacked us first, we could've shot that Birdman down that day!" the bearded pirate said.
"Bombarding Birdman? Sounds interesting. But didn't they find an Alabasta warship outside the wall that day?"
"Yeah.
