He had been reluctant at first, but the moment he experienced Fear Power for himself, he was sold.

Vampires had unusual bodies. Only weapons made from certain materials could truly kill them.

The problem was that those materials cost a fortune. Blade might have looked impressive all these years, but he had barely kept up with the cost of his equipment by robbing other criminals. Money was so tight that sometimes he had to ration his bullets one by one.

With the Yellow Power Ring, though, he discovered that weapons formed from Fear Power could kill vampires too.

Now he would never have to spend a fortune on expensive equipment again.

Blade could have cried with joy.

The only drawback was that using Fear Power disabled his natural ability to hide his presence. He could no longer sneak around.

But that was hardly a problem for him. He could always go in swinging. If he killed every witness, it still counted as a successful stealth mission.

He had learned that trick from Du Mu.

Since Blade's enemies were all vampires, he collected fear far more efficiently than Frank.

Most of Frank's targets were fragile ordinary people who could only take so much.

Vampires were different. Those things were absurdly tenacious; even burning them to a crisp would not necessarily kill them.

That meant Blade could use every trick he had to wring fear out of them without worrying that they would die halfway through.

They were vampires, after all. There was no need to worry about treating them humanely, and he felt no guilt about it.

When it came to enemies, Blade and Frank thought remarkably alike.
