Background

Aoba lost both parents during the Second Shinobi World War and subsequently lived through the Tomato Orphanage system, though the Uchiha Clan supported its war orphans. Their deaths affected him deeply, especially after he had already experienced orphanhood in his previous life. He recovered his resolve after entering the Ninja Academy and activating his system at age five. 4

His system synchronizes him with Uchiha Madara's abilities. Fusion rises most efficiently through battles against ninja enemies and high-rank missions; at first, he deliberately sought war-zone combat to reach the next ten-percent threshold. His long-term objective was to reach 50% fusion, believing only overwhelming power could protect him from Konoha's distrust of the Uchiha. 1

Personality

Aoba is calculating, ambitious, and intensely focused on practical strength. He initially regards battlefield kills as the quickest route to synchronization, and his eagerness to continue fighting unsettles other Konoha shinobi. Despite this bloodthirst, he is not careless: he evaluates political risks, initially considers refusing promotion to avoid drawing Danzō's attention, and hides his Mangekyo Sharingan until necessary. 1 6 18

He is composed and respectful around authority when it benefits him, but responds especially well to genuine trust. Fugaku's support, Minato's mentorship, and Hiruzen's willingness to include the Uchiha earn his cooperation. He kills three Suna chunin and one genin in his first documented battle, then shifts toward collecting fusion gains amid the Battle of Kikyo City. Following Konoha's victory, he awakens the Three-Tomoe Sharingan and returns to the village as an elite jonin-level fighter. 1 3 4

Promotion and Anbu Recruitment

Fugaku recommends Aoba for promotion, rewards him with high-rank ninjutsu scrolls, and expects him to serve on the Iwagakure front. Hiruzen formally makes him a Jonin without an examination and recruits him into Anbu under Minato's command despite Danzō's objections. 6 7

Rōran S-Rank Mission

Under Minato, Aoba investigates the unstable Dragon Vein in Rōran alongside Kakashi, Shibi, and Chōza. He exposes Mukade's exploitation of Rōran's citizens, helps Sara reach the Dragon Vein seal, and defeats Mukade's giant puppet through an Earth, Fire, and Wind Style combination after the Dragon Vein is shut down. Iwagakure Campaign

Aoba joins Minato's force at the Iwagakure front, becomes Minato's disciple, and attempts to keep Obito focused during the coming war.
