Konoha and Iwagakure finally clashed in the Land of Grass, where Uchiha Aoba charged into the enemy ranks and devastated them with his Sharingan and Majestic Destroyer Flame. After killing more than ten shinobi, including an elite jonin, he drew a large group of Iwagakure fighters intent on bringing him down.

• Jiraiya summoned Konoha’s front-line forces, and they marched to the Land of Grass to face Ōnoki and Iwagakure.
• Ōnoki and Jiraiya each ordered their forces to attack, and Uchiha Aoba told Uchiha Obito and Kakashi to watch out before charging ahead.
• Uchiha Aoba used his Three-Tomoe Sharingan and sword to cut down Iwagakure shinobi who tried to stop him.
• Uchiha Aoba unleashed Majestic Destroyer Flame, killing more than ten Iwagakure shinobi, including an elite jonin.

Uchiha Aoba awakened Susanoo and overwhelmed the Iwagakure forces, forcing Ōnoki to concede defeat. After Konoha celebrated its victory, Minato Namikaze checked on Aoba and praised him for turning the battle around.

• Uchiha Aoba revealed Susanoo’s skeletal first form, then strengthened it into its second form despite the strain on his vision.
• Uchiha Aoba swept through the Iwagakure shinobi with Susanoo, inflicting heavy casualties while their attacks failed to harm him.
• Ōnoki ended the fighting, ordered Roshi to withdraw, and admitted that Konoha had won.
• Konoha’s shinobi celebrated, while the defeated Iwagakure shinobi mourned their losses.
• Uchiha Aoba dismissed Susanoo and noticed his vision had worsened, then returned to his ranks as the Iwagakure shinobi recoiled from him.

After the battle, Uchiha Aoba returned to camp and checked his rewards, which brought his fusion progress to 70% and made him eager to activate the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and fuse Hashirama Cells. Just as he prepared to use the system, it spoke to him for the first time, startling him awake.

• Namikaze Minato thanked Uchiha Aoba for his work and told him to rest while he and Jiraiya handled the aftermath.
• Uchiha Aoba noticed Uchiha Obito had awakened the Two-Tomoe Sharingan and congratulated him, while Kakashi revealed Obito had been injured saving him.
• Uchiha Aoba returned to his tent to sleep and tallied 66 Iwagakure kills, raising his fusion progress by 23.9% to 70%.

Uchiha Aoba activated his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and fused with Hashirama Cells without pain, then learned the war against Iwagakure had ended in surrender. Uchiha Madara reacted furiously to the news and decided to start the next stage of his plan.

• The system told Uchiha Aoba that killing Genin and Chunin or completing missions below A-rank would no longer raise his fusion rate, then explained that activating the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and fusing with Hashirama Cells would not hurt.
• Uchiha Aoba activated the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and fused with Hashirama Cells, then fell asleep and woke the next morning.
• Uchiha Aoba reported to Namikaze Minato, who told him the war report had been sent to the village and that Konoha was waiting for a negotiator to settle reparations with Iwagakure.

Uchiha Madara and Tobi planned to isolate Uchiha Aoba from his team and draw him into a conflict with Kirigakure so they could exploit Nohara Rin. In Konoha, Sarutobi Hiruzen decided to trust Namikaze Minato with Aoba, then confronted Shimura Danzō and stopped him from targeting the Uchiha.

• Uchiha Madara told Tobi to have White Zetsu sow discord between Uchiha Aoba and Konoha, then seek a war with Kirigakure to send Aoba back to the battlefield.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen read the report about Aoba awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan and worried that he might follow Uchiha Madara's path.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen chose to trust Namikaze Minato to guide Aoba and turned to replying about negotiations with Iwagakure.
• Shimura Danzō entered the Hokage's office and demanded that Sarutobi Hiruzen act against Aoba.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen refused to target Aoba and ordered Shimura Danzō to stop using his old tactics, so Danzō left, vowing that Hiruzen would regret it.

Uchiha Aoba witnessed Konoha accept Iwagakure’s terms and request an alliance despite winning the war, then returned to the village with Namikaze Minato. In Sarutobi Hiruzen’s office, Jiraiya pressed for Aoba to be rewarded with access to the Scroll of Seals, but Shimura Danzō objected and left after Hiruzen ordered him out.

• Utatane Koharu agreed to Iwagakure’s demands and proposed an alliance on Sarutobi Hiruzen’s and the Land of Fire Feudal Lord’s approval, leaving Uchiha Aoba stunned.
• Uchiha Aoba returned to Konoha with Namikaze Minato and went with Minato and Jiraiya to meet Sarutobi Hiruzen.
• Jiraiya asked Sarutobi Hiruzen to reward Uchiha Aoba by letting him choose ninjutsu from the Scroll of Seals, and Namikaze Minato supported the request.
• Shimura Danzō interrupted to oppose the reward, but Sarutobi Hiruzen ordered him to leave, and Danzō stormed out without answering.

Sarutobi Hiruzen spoke candidly with Uchiha Aoba about the Uchiha Clan’s strained position and asked him to help restore its relationship with Konoha. He named Namikaze Minato as his successor, then authorized Aoba to choose a forbidden jutsu from the Scroll of Seals.

• Sarutobi Hiruzen told Uchiha Aoba he accepted responsibility for the Uchiha Clan’s awkward position, and Aoba acknowledged that the clan also contributed to its problems.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen announced he would step down after the war’s fallout was settled and named Namikaze Minato as the Fourth Hokage.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen asked Aoba to support Minato and act as a bridge between the Uchiha Clan and Konoha, and Aoba agreed.
