Dark clouds hung low, pressing down on the world with a stifling, oppressive weight. Beans of rain poured down in a deluge, smashing against the earth and splashing into layers of spray.
Beside a towering cliff, the bizarre figure of Black Zetsu emerged silently. His lower half was firmly rooted in the soil, while his upper body sprouted out without warning, like some strange plant breaking through the ground.
"Obito, it seems your plan has hit a slight deviation."
Black Zetsu parted his lips, revealing that bone-chilling grin. His voice was raspy and strange, drifting through the sound of wind and rain with a sensation that made one's skin crawl.
In the distance, amidst the curtain of rain, Uchiha Shisui was locked in fierce combat with the subordinates of Salamander Hanzo, his figure flickering in and out of sight through the interplay of light and shadow.
Obito stood at the cliff's edge, his black robe snapping in the gale. His gaze was cold and profound; through the dense veil of rain, he stared fixedly at the battlefield below, a sneer curling his lips as if everything in the world were under his control.
"A mere trifle," Obito spoke, his voice bearing a striking resemblance to Uchiha Madara, imbued with an unquestionable dominance. "I will find a way to awaken the Rinnegan."
He narrowed his eyes slightly, his Sharingan slowly rotating within them, emitting a deep, eerie glow.
"However, the fact that this person betrayed Konoha to join the Akatsuki might just make him a useful pawn for me."
Obito continued, his eyes locked onto Uchiha Shisui as if observing a tool to be manipulated at will. The desire for control and ambition revealed in that gaze were enough to make one shudder.
Even if the plan had deviated slightly, he remained convinced that everything was still within his calculations, and that all people and events would unfold in the direction he had ordained.
"Heh heh, Obito, do as you see fit."
Black Zetsu's laughter echoed through the wind and rain, carrying an indescribable chill.
As soon as he finished speaking, Zetsu's body began to sink slowly, as if swallowed by the earth beneath him, his upper body gradually vanishing into the mud.
At the same time, the Fire Style unleashed by Salamander Hanzo activated rapidly. Numerous Explosive Tag appeared on the ground, crawling onto Nagato's ankles like maggots clinging to bone.
The next moment, fire erupted. A deafening explosion shook the air, and flames soared into the sky, illuminating the entire gray expanse.
The intense shockwave spread outward like a surging sea, scattering gravel and churning mud wherever it passed.
The earthen cliff, unable to bear the weight of such a powerful bombardment, saw cracks spreading like spiderwebs. A dull roar followed, and it began to collapse.
Salamander Hanzo's eyes sharpened. He leaped backward violently, narrowly avoiding the blast.
He landed steadily in the distance, his clothes fluttering in the wind, his eyes revealing a hint of solemnity.
Staring fixedly at the billowing smoke, he said slowly, "Did it succeed?"
Dense raindrops rapidly beat down the thick smoke.
Nagato held Konan tightly, his figure appearing and disappearing in the hazy rain as he returned to Yahiko's side in a wretched state.
His feet were a bloody mess, his robes tattered. Where the skin had been scorched by Salamander Hanzo's Fire Style, the flesh was turned inside out, blood mixing with the rain as it dripped incessantly.
Dark red stains bloomed on the muddy ground. Every step felt like treading on the edge of a blade; the piercing pain made him tremble slightly, yet his eyes were filled with resolve.
On the other side, Uchiha Shisui moved through the battlefield like a ghost.
An aura of slaughter radiated from him. His Sharingan spun with a sinister rhythm, and the Kunai in his hand flashed with cold light. Each swing claimed a life, precisely reaping the Rain Ninja brought by Salamander Hanzo.
Corpses of Rain Ninja fell beside him one after another, the rain washing away the blood as the ground turned into a quagmire.
Watching this scene, a flash of malice crossed Salamander Hanzo's eyes.
He knew well that this was the perfect opportunity to eliminate the Akatsuki leader, Yahiko. If missed, the future consequences would be endless.
With a wave of his hand, he commanded in a voice like a booming bell: "Attack!"
In an instant, a dense swarm of Rain Ninja emerged from all directions. Dressed in yellow raincoats with their faces masked, revealing only cold, icy eyes, they surged toward Uchiha Shisui like a tide, their footsteps splashing through the mud.
Yahiko watched as Uchiha Shisui held back the tide of Rain Ninja single-handedly, his heart filled with extreme anxiety.
He turned his head sharply toward Nagato, his eyes full of firmness and determination.
"Nagato, I leave Konan to you for now. I'm going to help Shisui!"
As the words left his lips, Yahiko shot out like an arrow from a bow, mud splashing beneath his feet as he wove rapidly through the rain.
In the blink of an eye, he plunged into the group of Rain Ninja, his movements agile and ghost-like.
He lunged toward a nearby Rain Ninja, and before the opponent could react, he delivered a fierce elbow strike to the man's abdomen.
The Rain Ninja let out a muffled groan, his body flying backward like a kite with a broken string.
Yahiko took the opportunity to stoop down, snatching a Kunai from the man's hand. As he flipped his wrist, the blade shimmered with a cold, lethal light.
At this moment, Yahiko was like a provoked beast, his eyes burning with rage as he swung the Kunai without hesitation, cutting into the surrounding Rain Ninja.
Amidst the rain, blood and slaughter intertwined. Uchiha Shisui fought his way through the Amegakure Ninja, blades flashing and shadows dancing; several Rain Ninja fell under his sharp offensive. Just as he was fully focused on dealing with the enemies before him, a strange aura quietly descended.
A pale, paper-white arm emerged from the distorted space without warning, carrying a trace of chill as it rested lightly on Uchiha Shisui's shoulder.
In that instant, Shisui's body stiffened violently.
Immediately after, a low, cold voice resonated in his ear, carrying an unquestionable majesty: "You are a variable. Before my plan is complete, you had best stay inside for a while."
Uchiha Shisui's heart jolted. Without turning his head, he knew the newcomer was Obito.
As the words finished, a terrifying suction force erupted from Obito's eyes. Those orbs were like deep black holes, crazily devouring everything in the vicinity.
The rain in the air was pulled by this suction, forming distorted streaks of water that converged toward Obito's eyes.
Uchiha Shisui felt his body tilting backward uncontrollably, as if sinking into a swamp.
At the critical moment when the terrifying suction surged like a tide, attempting to drag Uchiha Shisui into Obito's special dimension, Shisui's eyes sharpened abruptly, and he roared: "I won't be taken without a fight! Ame-no-Iwato!"
In an instant, a mysterious and formidable power erupted from his Mangekyo Sharingan.
A strange, eerie glow rippled across the surface of his body, and immediately after, he began to fade into blackness like a phantom bubble.
Almost simultaneously, Obito felt his vision go pitch black. The surrounding curtain of rain, the sounds of slaughter, and those Amegakure Ninja vanished in an instant, replaced by an endless void of darkness.
This space was terrifyingly silent; there was not a glimmer of light nor a single sound, as if time and space had come to a complete standstill here.
"This is! His eye's ability... it really is troublesome."
Obito's voice echoed through the darkness, laced with a hint of shock.
He had not expected Uchiha Shisui to possess a dōjutsu on par with his own, capable of dragging him into this unknown dimension in such a short span of time.
However, he remained confident that with the power of Kamui, he could handle this unknown threat.
Outside the space, with Uchiha Shisui no longer pinning him down, Yahiko was surrounded by layer upon layer of enemies. Seeing Yahiko in such peril, Nagato rushed over to provide support.
As if fate were playing a cruel trick, shortly after Nagato charged into the fray, someone shoved Yahiko toward him. Caught off guard, Nagato drove a Kunai deep into Yahiko's heart.
