The Strange Cave

The two of them soon reached the summit. Sure enough, just as they had expected, what appeared before them at the top was a hidden volcanic crater.

Although the crater was overgrown with all kinds of trees, vines, and grass, the temperature—more than ten degrees higher than at the foot of the mountain—explained everything.

Wang Sheng pointed to the right. "I'll search for the volcano entrance over here. You take the other side."

Dongfang Jinghan said, "All right!"

Wang Sheng reminded her, "It's fine to go slowly. Be careful! Safety comes first!"

Dongfang Jinghan looked at the concern written all over Wang Sheng's face, and sweetness welled in her heart. But she was not someone good at expressing her feelings, so she only replied lightly, "Got it. You too. Safety comes first!"

The two immediately split up. They had to seize every moment here; otherwise, if that Magma Flood Dragon from before returned now, it would cut off their retreat.

A quarter of an hour later, Wang Sheng saw a stretch of grass that had been flattened for a long time.

Wang Sheng was instantly overjoyed, because this was clearly the kind of sign left when soul beasts often passed through that spot.

He followed that stretch of grass all the way forward.

Wang Sheng finally found the volcano's entrance.

It was behind an enormous tree. If he had not seen that patch of grass that had long been pressed flat, he really might not have discovered it.

Just as Wang Sheng was about to go in and investigate—

A scream came from the other side of the crater.

"Not good, Jinghan!"

Wang Sheng's expression changed drastically at once, and he no longer cared about going in to investigate.

He quickly ran in the direction the scream had come from.
