Mash was striking a flying dragon with her shield. Used as a blunt weapon, its sheer weight made it devastating. One blow to the dragon's head left it dazed, even slowing the movement of its wings.
"Hah!"
A short, forceful shout burst from Mash's lips. The man-height black shield swung swiftly in her hands, smashing a flying dragon out of the air and killing its knight along with it.
Yet another flying dragon knight charging with a lance burst in from another direction, about to ram straight into Mash. But as if she had timed it perfectly, Mash brought her shield back around just in time, blocking the knight's charge without taking a single step back. Then she drove forward hard, and the off-balance dragon knight was sent tumbling along with his mount.
"Mr. Andersen!" Mash turned her attention to defending against another flying dragon knight and merely shouted to Andersen.
"Leave it to me!" Hans Christian Andersen grinned, and something strange appeared in his hand.
It looked like a little girl, yet it was undeniably nothing more than a magical construct. Andersen hurled it toward the flying dragon knight.

The barely breathing knight seemed to have been struck by some tremendous force and was knocked straight off the dragon's back. After spinning twice through the air, he crashed to the ground.
Andersen threw out something else. The instant it landed on the knight, it exploded into a blaze of fire, extinguishing the last remnants of his vitality.
As for the flying dragon, there was no need to worry about it. Mash had already shattered its breastbone, and fragments of bone had pierced its heart. It was nearly dead already, though its struggles were still rather frightening.
