It was already evening. Arthur was alone in her room, taking care of some matters.
At the doorway, Morgan glanced into the room, then checked to see if anyone was nearby.
Once she was sure it was safe, she took off her hood and veil and entered Arthur's room.
Arthur noticed someone coming in and looked up. She thought it was her wife, Guinevere, but instead saw her older sister, Morgan le Fay, with whom she rarely spoke.
She was a little puzzled, but out of courtesy, she stood and bowed slightly. "Good day, Sister."
"Good day, my sister, my king." Morgan le Fay was unusually warm. A faint blush colored her face, though the glow of the setting sun made it hard to see.
Arthur gazed at the face so like her own and felt a little uncomfortable. Still, since her sister had come to see her, and was no longer as cold as before, she must want to improve their relationship.
Her relationship with her sister had always been a source of worry for Arthur.
With a smile, she came out from behind the desk, her tone bright, as though the fatigue of handling state affairs had vanished. "Sister, is there something you need? What brings you here at this hour?"
Morgan le Fay smiled softly. "You've been working so hard lately, organizing the Knights of the Round Table Order. I thought I'd come see how you were doing."
As she spoke, she took out what she had brought.
"A loaf of bread and a glass of fruit wine. I hope you can take a little time to rest." She wore an appropriately caring, pained expression, as though she were truly a sister worried about her younger sibling.
