"Why... is it you?" Lawrence trembled as she looked at the Servant standing there, her pupils shrinking as she clasped both hands over her mouth.
"Mother... I-I succeeded?" Adelson took a step forward, his gaze fixed on Lawrence, who wore Harley's appearance.
"I succeeded?" He took another step forward.
"Stop!" Mash stepped between Lawrence and Adelson, watching him warily. "If you take one more step forward, I'll attack immediately!"
Fujimaru Ritsuka grabbed Lawrence's arm. "Miss Lawrence, what exactly happened?"
"..." Lawrence did not seem to notice what Fujimaru Ritsuka had said. She merely continued staring blankly at Adelson.
Adelson stopped walking. He truly did stop.
Yet his calm expression inexplicably sent a chill through Mash, who stood opposite him.
Like... a lone wolf amid ice and snow. That look in his eyes...
"I know. No one will understand me." Adelson lowered his head slightly and looked at Mash with something akin to an upward gaze. "But now that I have achieved my goal, are you hateful nuisances still going to stand in my way?"
"I'm not trying to stand in your way. I merely ask that you state your posi—" Though Mash found the man's gaze terrifying, she forced herself to speak.
"Enough." Adelson directly cut Mash off. "All I want to do now is reunite with Mother as soon as possible, then summon Father. As for anyone in my way..."
"Go die somewhere else."
BOOM—!!!
After those calm, icy words, an enormous amount of magical energy abruptly erupted from Adelson's body.
Bzzzz—
Tens of thousands of gemstone blades appeared around Adelson, gem-like light flashing in his eyes.
"Roson, you—" Lawrence snapped out of it and cried out instinctively.
"Don't worry, Mother." Adelson looked at Lawrence, his face revealing an expression completely unlike before—one like that of an innocent child.
