Ch. 1999The Dark Mountain Road, Eternal God
After Himiko confirmed that her and Iyo’s shared dream was prophetic, Fujimaru Ritsuka became separated from the others on Black River Mountain and climbed alone through a strange, storm-darkened realm. At the summit, a mysterious voice challenged his decision to resolve the Singularity, and he saw someone standing ahead.
- Kanna told Himiko about her dream of the Mountain God, a black lake, and the village engulfed in fire, and Himiko confirmed it was prophetic.
- Himiko told Kanna that the Mountain God was not angry and urged her not to fear whatever was coming.
- Sakumura explained to Takasugi Shinsaku that Kanna maintained a solemn attitude as a shrine maiden, while Fujimaru Ritsuka sensed that Black River Mountain felt wrong.
- Fujimaru Ritsuka found himself alone on an endless black mountain path, with Yukina, Bear Weaver, and his companions nowhere to be seen.
- Fujimaru Ritsuka chose to climb toward the summit despite the cold rain and the voice asking why he would disturb a world where everyone was happy.
- Fujimaru Ritsuka looked up and saw someone standing at the mountaintop.
