The golden threads were very long, covered in numerous golden nodes. Yoda drew out two of them.
Yoda spread two fingers, and one of the nodes immediately expanded into a light screen. On it was the scene of Yoda and Ye Luo meeting for the first time. Then, like swiping across a smartphone screen, his green finger moved right, and the scene instantly switched to another node—the one representing Ye Luo's current encounter with him.
To the right of that node, Ye Luo spotted a new one. His hand itched, and he nearly opened it. He desperately wanted to see when his next intersection with Yoda would be.
As if sensing Ye Luo's thoughts, Yoda smiled faintly and flicked his finger. The threads returned to the countless strands of causality.
Yoda placed both hands back on his cane and looked at Ye Luo. "Now, have you learned it?"
Ye Luo half understood. Yoda had only made it clear that the Force could trace causes and effects through countless tangled causal ties, thereby verifying the truth of a lie. Yet he had not explained the exact method. A vague feeling stirred within Ye Luo, as though he were separated from the truth by a thin sheet of paper that he simply could not pierce to see the karmic links behind it.
Ye Luo frowned slightly.
Yoda's feet lowered from the air to the ground. He looked at Ye Luo kindly. "It seems you already understand. What you lack now is merely a clue. A clue..." As he spoke, Yoda leaned on his cane and walked out of the room, leaving Ye Luo alone with Umus.
